Day 1 in Sydney
Welcome to Sydney! Upon arrival at the airport, you will go through customs and immigration. Should you opt to purchase a transfer to your hotel; a representative will be waiting for you as you exit immigration. Arrive at your hotel, check in and do not give in to jet lag! There is so much for you to see and do in the world`s most beautiful city!
Begin your tour of the harbor city with a leisurely stroll around Circular Quay; take in the spectacular sights of the two most iconic structures in the world, the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge. Afterwards, we recommend that you get acquainted with the city by choosing an optional sightseeing tour such as the `Sydney and Bondi Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour` where you can sit back and take in the highlights of the city. Be sure to hop-off at Hyde Park which is Australia`s oldest park with acres of sprawling lawns, fountains, picnic spots and the Australian Museum. You can also take a `Hop-on Hop-off Harbor Cruise` tour from Circular Quay where you can glide along the glittering harbor on a ferry.
For your first evening in city head back down to the Harbor and check out some of the award winning restaurants that Sydney has to offer. Relax and enjoy cocktails and a delicious meal along the waterfront with breathtaking views of the harbor. You can also opt to take a `Sydney Harbor Sunset Dinner Cruise` where you can enjoy a meal along with spectacular sights of the city under the setting sun. Head back to your hotel for a good night`s rest.
Day 2 in Sydney
Rise and shine! Get an early start and escape the hustle and bustle of the city with a day tour to one of the most popular national parks in Australia, Blue Mountain National Park. The area is renowned for the Three Sisters rock formation, Katoomba which is home to Mountain Devil the steepest railway in the world and Scenic World where visitors can glide over the rainforest and between cliffs on a Scenic Skyway tram. Stop for lunch at one of the tea shops in Leura and explore the antique shops in Blackheath.
Later in the day take a tour of the Royal Botanic Gardens featuring over 74 acres of themed gardens situated along the waterfront of Sydney Harbor. A short walk from here is the Opera House hailed as`one of the indisputable masterpieces of human creativity`. Here you can take a tour of the multi venue performing arts center or possibly catch a performance by Opera Australia or the Australian Ballet (check availability and book tickets in advance). Head over to Chinatown a large complex with shopping centers and restaurants where you can enjoy some of the local cuisine.
Day 3 in Sydney
Start your morning with a trip to the famous Bondi Beach where you can relax on the fine white sands or take a dip in the famous Bondi Baths a 164 ft ocean pool, next to the ocean pool is Bondi Icebergs an area featuring cafes, restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a delicious oceanfront meal and refreshments. After lunch take the Bondito Coogee Coast Walk, a 4 mile stretch of picturesque coastal paths with spectacular ocean views. The walks highest point Marks Park features Aboriginal rock carvings and is a prime whale watching spot.
Make your way to Darling Harbor adjacent to the city center a popular area completely dedicated to entertainment and tourism, you can visit the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium with 14 themed zones and more than 13,000 fish and other water creatures. Next door to the aquarium is the Wild Life Sydney Zoo divided into 10 zones containing butterfly tropics, Tasmanian Devils, Koalas and Kangaroo’s.
When the lights of the city ignite you can spend your evening in the Harbor featuring popular restaurants, alfresco bars, theatres and shops with boardwalks and walkways.
Additional Days in Sydney
Should you be able to spend additional days in Sydney check out Sydney Olympic Park, an official suburb of Sydney and a huge sporting, cultural and leisure complex offering a multitude of events and activities where the 2000 Olympic Games were held. A great area for cycling with over 22 miles of cycle paths and the Armory Gallery and Theatre are also located here.
Sydney`s Town Hall and Government House are both historic buildings worth visiting with history dating back to the 1800`s. The Town Hall features magnificent Victorian interiors and the buildings highlight is the Grand Organ, the largest in the world with 8,700 pipes along with a collection of items representing the cultural heritage of the city including art work and the 1880 Vase de Rimini. The Government house is a hidden gem with colonial style architecture and was designedby the celebrated king`s architect Edward Blore who also worked on Buckingham and Windsor Palaces.
The Rocks is the site of the first European landing in 1788 and the traditional home of the Gadigal Aboriginal people with a variety of souvenir and craft shops and historic walks. The Rocks Market operates on the weekend with around a 100 stalls.
For the adventurous types consider the Sydney Bridge Climb with unrivaled views from 440 feet above the Sydney Harbor!
Check out Manly beach a 30 minute ferry ride from Circular Quay, situated amongst the north beaches of Sydney in the city of Manly with three main sections including Queens cliff, North Steyne and South Steyne. It is a favorite seaside destination featuring a beachfront promenade, restaurants, shops and nightclubs.
Visit Sydney Tower the tallest structure and second tallest observation tower in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the city. If you are brave enough sign up for the adrenaline fueled Skywalk where you can enjoy 360 degree views of the city with nothing but glass below you!
Your Last Day in Sydney
Depart from your hotel to the airport for your return flight home. We recommend that you purchase a private transfer to the airport, if so the representative will meet you at your hotel with plenty of time to get you to the airport for your flight out.
