Auburn is one of the beautiful towns of the Finger Lakes of New York, situated on Owasco Lake. It is well-known for being the longtime home of two important U.S. abolitionists and historical figures: William H. Seward, former Senator and Secretary of State, and Harriet Tubman, who was gifted land by Seward so she could move there in 1859. Seward and Tubman called Auburn home until their deaths, and today both of their homes are museums and National Historic Landmarks.
