Ashland is a city in southern Oregon. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the city of Ashland are inseparable. The presence of The Bard – and all the people who gather to stage his works – has made Ashland the cultural capital of southern Oregon, and perhaps the most vibrant small town in the state. Southwest of downtown, leafy Lithia Park surrounds Ashland Creek and features trails, duck ponds and a rose garden. To the northeast, North Mountain Park has a nature center and themed gardens, like the butterfly and herb gardens. At the ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum, kids can build and experiment in the Da Vinci`s Garage space.
