What are the best places to visit in India?

Delhi is the modern capital city and religious heart of the country, a bustling, vibrant, metropolitan city packed with magnificent monuments, ornate temples, fantastic shopping, mouth watering food and exciting sights and attractions. Agra is the world famous location of the impressive Taj Mahal, and Agra Fort and Faethpur Sikri the city`s three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city boasting bustling beaches, serene temples, vibrant markets and UNESCO World heritage Site. The stunning city with its ancient British colonial streets and architecture is home to one of the largest slums in the entire world and some of the best street food around with hundreds of restaurants and a happening nightlife scene.

When is the best time to visit India?

There are three main seasons in India, summer, winter, and Monsoon season. The best months to visit are generally from October through March when the weather is sunny and warm with little rain. India is a large country with very diverse landscapes and climate zones with varying weather patterns from region to region. The winters are warm and pleasant, summers are very hot and extremely humid and the monsoon season, which brings spurts of heavy rainfall and tropical storms. April, May, October, and November are the hottest months of the year, and June through September are the wettest months being it is monsoon season throughout the entire country. The most popular tourist season runs from October through March when the weather is at its best throughout most of the country. If traveling during the high season it is recommended to book in advance as many accommodations and transportation become sold out quickly.

The south of India sits nearest to the equator with warmer temperatures throughout the year. The average temperatures stay at 72 F or higher with the highest temps in May and June, with 93F for daily highs. We recommend 7-10 days based on what you want to see and do. We offer flexible vacation packages so you can select your number of nights in each city, desired hotel and activities. We suggest a minimum of 3 nights in larger cities.

What is the best way to get around India?

There are several classes of service that can be complicated with the most popular being Sleeper class overnight trains with bunk beds and air conditioning. Trains travel all over the country between major destinations some taking up a large amount of time.

What is the currency of India?

The units of currency in India are the Indian Rupee (R) US dollars are not accepted. Please be sure to have the correct currency on hand or be prepared to exchange your dollars for pounds upon arrival.
