Pismo Beach is known for its wineries, many beaches and for being the Clam Capital of the World. It holds the Clam Festival every October, complete with clam chowder competitions and a clam-themed parade. Dinosaur Caves Park has trails with ocean views and a playground while Chumash Park, with its wetlands, Margo Dodd Park, on a bluff and Monarch Butterfly Grove are also popular hot-spots. Take a leisurely walk on the award-winning boardwalk adjacent to the Pismo pier. Shop at the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets, and be sure to visit the California Welcome Center while there.
