Telluride, a former Victorian mining town in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, is set in a box canyon amid forested peaks at the base of a popular ski-and-golf resort. The town’s historic district houses landmarks like the Sheridan Opera House, a performing-arts venue originally built in 1913, and the Telluride Historical Museum, which showcases local history in a converted hospital built in 1896. Telluride offers a wide variety of things to do from epic rock climbing and hiking, to a free gondola ride as well as annual concerts. The town of Telluride is tucked into a box canyon surrounded by 13,000 and 14,000 foot peaks, just eight blocks wide and twelve blocks long.
Take Colorado into your own hands, travelling between popular cities with a Rental Car. Visit Telluride (a beautiful mountain town, tucked in a remote corner of southwest Colorado known for its skiing) and Ouray (your home base for exploring beautiful San Juan National Forest: the city is full with 19 century charm and architecture as well as its nearby hot springs). Entrance to national parks is not included. Plan your visit according to your schedule and be sure to check each park's operating hours. This is a flexible vacation package.
