Trip Summary

  • Portland, OR

Portland has a wide variety of parks, bridges and bicycle paths as well as art, theaters and a vivid music scene. Its eco-friendliness, its microbreweries and coffeehouses are enchanting and the Iconic Washington Park encompasses sites from the formal Japanese Garden to Oregon Zoo and its railway. A little bit creative, a little bit counter-culture, Portland is a year-round, always-evolving city that`s home to a mindful community dedicated to keeping its city sustainable, innovative and accessible.

Visit and discover the Portland Japanese Garden, Oregon Zoo, International Rose Test Garden, Washington Park, Portland Art Museum, and so much more!

  • Astoria, OR

Astoria sits on the Columbia River, near the Pacific Ocean. The Astoria Column, a towering hilltop monument with murals depicting area history, offers panoramic views. The Columbia River Maritime Museum showcases fishing, shipping and military history in a waterfront building. Set in a Queen Anne style Victorian mansion, Flavel House Museum features period furniture as well as manicured gardens. Astoria is gritty, and likes it that way. But that rustic exterior is just a cover for the many enchanting dichotomies you`ll find waiting around the next corner. In recent popular culture, Astoria is most famous for being the setting of the 1985 film The Goonies, which was filmed on location in the city.

Visit and discover the Fort Astoria, Megler Bridge, Heritage Museum, Astoria Riverwalk, Clatsop County Parks, Shively Park, and so much more.

  • Yachats, OR

Yachats is a small coastal city whose name comes from the Siletz language and means `dark water at the foot of the mountain`. Much of the town`s coastline is dominated by black basalt rock, the result of lava flows some 50 million years ago. Hazy Cascade Mountain horizons, surging ocean waters, and tide pools sunk in black basalt on the shoreline make the name altogether appropriate. Instead of sandy beaches, much of the coastline near Yachats is composed of rugged black basalt that produces surging sea landmarks like Devil`s Churn, Spouting Horn, and Thor`s Well. The city is a magical place for a peaceful retreat, outdoor adventure, inspiration, and romance.

Explore the Cape Perpetua, Thor's Well, Devils Churn, Smelt Sands State Recreation Site, Yachats State Recreation Area, Amanda's Trail, Cape Cove Trailhead, Strawberry Hill, and much more.

  • Eureka, CA

Eureka presents a charming Old Town district featuring elaborate Victorian houses such as the nearby Carson Mansion. Families love the Sequoia Park Zoo, home to pandas and primates, and features a walk-through aviary. It is sheltered by massive old-growth redwood trees. Don`t forget to enjoy the guided boat cruises aboard the early-1900s Madaket ferry to Humboldt Bay. In the adjacent Old Town, make a beeline for the outstanding Eureka Visitors Center, where you can sample local wines, beers and oysters, ask for tips on nearby galleries, gift shops and restaurants, and book guided tours and adventures.

Explore the Sequoia Park Zoo, Carson Mansion, Morris Graves Museum of Art, Clarke Historical Museum, Eureka Visitor Center, Sequoia Park, Woodley Island, and so much more!

  • San Francisco, CA

Eat your heart out with dim sum in Chinatown. Browse the secondhand shops along Haight Street. Stroll Ocean Beach, skate through Golden Gate Park, ride the cable cars to fisherman`s Wharf, explore Alcatraz Island, go to a Giants ball game – the list goes on and on.

Amaze yourself with the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Fisherman`s Wharf, Ride the Cable Cars, Golden Gate Park, Chinatown, Legion of Honor, Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Twin Peaks, Asian Art Museum, and so much more!
