Majestic and magical grottos and illuminated caves fill the bay in Halong, filled with vibrant colors, stalagmites, stalactites, and statues that tell different stories of how the caves got their name. There are five famous caves situated in Halong Bay and each one has its own story.

-Sung Sot Cave or Surprise Cave is the biggest and most beautiful in the area filled with various rock formations and 98 ft tall ceilings.

-Trinh Nu Cave or Virgin Cave tells the story of a love-struck couple with a stone shaped statue of a girl looking out to sea.

-Trong Grotto or Male Cave sits opposite the Virgin Cave with the statue of a boy looking longingly across the waters.

-Pelican Cave filled with various sized stalagmites and stalactites features a spectacular opening that looks like a monster's mouth with teeth handing down.

-Thien Cung Cave or Heavenly Palace Cave well known for the stalagmites and stalactites featured inside.

-Dau Go Cave one of the most visiting in the bay known for its over 2 million-year-old stalagmites and stalactite treasures inside.
