DANANG FAQ`S
The main airport servicing the city of Danang is the Da Nang International Airport situated 1.86 miles (10 minutes) west of the city center. If you have not booked a private transfer through us you have a few options for getting from the airport to your hotel, these include taxis, Uber, Grab and rental cars.
What types of transportation can I find at the airport?There are several transportation options from Da Nang International Airport including taxis which can be found just outside the Arrivals hall and are offered with several different companies including Mai Linh which is a reputable company that serves the city and the airport. A taxi ride from the airport to the city center will cost approximately VND70,000 and taxi representatives are available to assist. There are fixed rate taxis and metered taxis available along with motorcycle taxis if you are a single traveler with little baggage. The ride to the city is only about 10 minutes.
Uber and Grab are available at the airport, simply download the apps on your smartphone and enter your pick up and drop off location. These two options could be cheaper than a regular taxi and you pay directly through the app on your phone.
There is a bus stop located about 8 minutes away from the terminal.

How do I get around the city using public transportation?Public Transportation in the city of Danang is mostly made up of taxis, buses along with motorcycle taxis and cyclos.
Taxis can be found everywhere in the city, especially outside popular attractions, shops, and hotels. The most popular companies are Mai Linh, Taxi Xanh, and Vinasun, which are all metered taxis and prices start around VND12,000 - VND15,000 for every 0.62 miles. Motorcycle taxis are a quick and cheap way to get around when exploring the city, the cost is around VND40,000 for a quick trip around the city (estimated prices are around VND 10,000 - 15,000 per 0.62 miles). You can also rent a motorcycle for around VND80,000 - 150,000 for the day.
Cyclos are a unique and authentic trip around the city, a pedal-powered form of transport where you can sit back and relax at a leisurely speed while taking in the sights.
Buses are available in the city and cost around VND5,000 making this a cheap way to access attractions in the city of Danang. Buses run from 5:30 am until 6:00 pm, tickets can be purchased onboard the bus. There are 11 major routes in the city. Visit www.danabus.vn for more information.
Is Danang a walking city?The city is small and easy to navigate on foot with many restaurants, shops, and attractions located within walking distance.

Can I ride a bike in Danang?Riding or renting a bicycle in Danang is made possible with many rental options located around the city including the Danang Visitors Center which is situated just across the bridge from the beautiful beaches. My Khe Beach and Bach Dang Road are great for a leisurely cycle with plenty of spectacular places to stop and enjoy the sunshine and the restaurants and eateries in the area. The city is pretty flat which makes it great for cycling; taking a bike ride along the River Han is a beautiful route.
Is Danang a dangerous city, is there anything I should be aware of?The city of Danang is a is a safe city to visit, but just like any other major destination in the world, there are certain precautions you should practice when visiting. Practice common sense when out and about exploring the sights and keep your wits about you, pickpockets are common in crowded areas, especially in markets and on public transportation. Keep your valuables secure at all times, avoid wearing expensive jewelry or looking flashy, don`t carry around large amounts of money. Stick to well populated and well lit areas late at night and try not to wander around alone when it is dark.
What are some popular areas for shopping?There are plenty of opportunities for shopping in the city of Danang, the city is a great place to purchase local handicrafts and unique souvenirs which can be found at popular Gift and Specialty Shops as well as the bustling Markets. There are shopping malls found in the city center and two of the cities traditional markets include Con and Han Market, which both offer local cuisine at affordable prices. The Non-Nuoc Fine Arts Village is worth a visit, set in the foothills of the Marble Mountains in a historic 300-year-old village setting where there are artisan workshops that specialize in marble goods and other little shops and eateries offering unique and authentic gifts. Overlooking the Han River is the authentic Da Nang Souvenirs and Café where you can shop for local souvenirs as well as enjoy refreshments with spectacular views.
What is the currency? Can I pay/tip in US dollars?The units of currency in Danang are the Vietnamese Dong (VND). US dollars are accepted but it is always better to pay in VND. A nice relaxing day or afternoon in the spa is the perfect way to rejuvenate your body after a busy day of sightseeing. Where can I take a cooking class?There are cooking classes offered in the city Danang most of them are conducted at five-star hotels as well as local restaurants. Participants partake in Vietnamese-style cooking preparations where fresh ingredients are purchased at the local market and then cooked at the chosen location. What is the food like?The food scene in Danang is filled with amazing restaurants and tasty street food on every corner, you can never go hungry in this city. The Vietnamese love their food and it shows in the wide array of delicious cuisine where visitors can enjoy freshly caught seafood, beef, chicken, pork and plenty of fresh tasty produce.
Some of the tasty local dishes to enjoy while visiting Danang include Quang Nam`s noodles, Banh Beo made with rice flour and shrimp mixed with chili and garlic. Many of the local dishes are flavored with fish sauce, ginger, Vietnamese mint, chilies and fresh basil which gives food a sweet, salty and spice flavor.

Head down to the river at night there are restaurants and cafes that line the Han River and the area of Bach Dang, which comes alive at night. I don`t speak Vietnamese will there be many people who speak English?The official language spoken in Danang is Vietnamese. Most Vietnamese speak enough English for tourists` needs, and it is common for hotels, restaurants, and shops that are aimed at tourists to use the English Language. We suggest you get a good English-Vietnamese guidebook and familiarize yourself with common phrases such as hello, goodbye, please, thank you and numbers 1-10.
