Located in the German Bavarian Alps, Berchtesgaden is a beautiful village with ancient winding streets, a medieval marketplace and castle square. It is often associated with the Mount Watzmann, at 8900 ft. the third-highest mountain in Germany, which is renowned in the rock climbing community for its Ostwand, and a deep glacial lake named Königssee. Another notable peak is the Kehlstein mountain with its ever popular Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's Nest), which offers spectacular views to its visitors.
