Our flights went off smoothly. Our plane leaving Brussels for home was delayed, but we were notified via text early in the morning, so we were prepared for it. We flew on a combination of Delta and KLM planes. The Delta planes seemed to have more room and were more comfortable. Generally, both airlines were great and what one should expect in basic economy.
We stayed in 4 hotels. Bryghia Hotel in Bruges. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was built in the 1500's, so as one might expect, the rooms were small and there was no air conditioning. There was a lift, so that was nice. We rented a car, and there was parking very near, for free in a handicapped spot, we brought my California Handicapped Placard and printed out EU handicapped signs in the local language, and had a pretty easy time finding handicapped parking most of the places we went. The market square was a few minutes walk away. Though we would have liked air conditioning, we were happy with this hotel.
We stayed 4 nights in the Mabi City Centre hotel in Maastrict. Again, we were happy with this hotel. the room was comfortable and air conditioned. There were complementary bottles of water in a fridge near the elevator. Our room was not ready at check in, and they gave us free drinks in the lobby while we waited the 15 minutes or so for it to get ready. Also steps away from the Market Square. Parking was in garage pretty close by, but our most expensive of the trip ($25 per night)
We stayed 4 nights at the Grand Hotel Cravat in Luxembourg City. The room was large and a bit tired. Great Location, right next door to the Notre Dame Cathedral and a short walk to the square, the Ducal Palace and other sites in the city. Staff was helpful and pleasant. No air conditioning, and it was warm, but they did have a fan in the room and that made it quite comfortable. We were able to park right across the street from the hotel, for free, in a handicapped place.
In Brussels, we stayed 3 nights at the Yadoya Hotel. This was the most comfortable room. I use a cane, and they gave us a ADA room on the ground floor. The room was large, air conditioned and had the most comfortable beds of the trip. This hotel was farthest from the happening area. It looked like a 25-30 minute walk to the Grand Place, so we did not attempt to walk. We were able to park right outside the hotel in a handicapped place.
This is our third trip with Tripmasters. We have been very happy with whole process. Before the trip, I have having problems printing out the vouchers, and called, and the helpful staff, emailed me the vouchers. We also love the tripmasters app.
Thanks for a great trip!
