Day 1 in Guanacaste

Welcome to Costa Rica! Once your flight has arrived in Liberia you will go through immigration. Should you opt to purchase a transfer to your hotel; a representative will be waiting for you as you exit immigration. There are many exciting things to see in Guanacaste.

Enjoy a relaxing and scenic drive from Liberia to Guanacaste. Driving your own car, you have the freedom of stopping where you want along the way, and traveling at your own pace. Check into your hotel and then enjoy a sunset stroll on the beach. Savor dinner on the beach and dip your feet in the sand for a once in a lifetime experience.

Day 2 in Guanacaste

Today you may wish to just relax on the beach and take advantage of your hotel`s amenities. If you are looking for something a little more exhilarating, there are several outstanding activities that you can enjoy. At Buena Vista Adventure Center, take a zipline tour in combination with thermal hot springs, mud treatments, horseback riding, and a 400-foot waterslide in the midst of the forest.

Take a boat ride through the Tempisque River which borders the nearby Palo Verde National Park and is a wonderful opportunity to take in the area's amazing natural wonders such as an extraordinary selection of migratory birds and indigenous fauna. Bird lovers will enjoy hiking the Rincon de la Vieja National Park with over 300 recorded bird species and a startling population of wild purple orchids. Along the way, you may see many of the area`s more exotic animal residents such as howler monkeys, iguanas, caimans, coatimundis, and otters.

Day 3 in Guanacaste

Relax, lay on the beach or by the pool, go shopping and explore the area. If you have a rental car, you can drive around to the nearby beaches, if not you can walk around town or take a taxi. It’s up to you what you want to do! If you feel up for doing something, you can take a surf lesson at Playa Tamarindo, go stand up paddling around Coco, Hermosa, or Panama beach or rent a kayak. If you’re at Playa Ocotal, you can rent snorkel gear and snorkel around the reef nearby.

Additional Days in Guanacaste

Take a day trip to Playa Nacascolo which is recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Located at the Gulf of Papagayo, the thin strip of white sand is backed by palm trees and a tropical forest. The water is always calm and excellent for swimming.

Nearby Rincon de la Vieja National Park features hot springs and bubbling mud spas, immaculate waterfalls, and an active volcano crater. Take a cruise on a sailboat: Most of the beaches and destinations in Guanacaste include a small fleet of charter boats. Trips usually include lunch and snorkeling stops along the way. Some may stop at deserted beaches, or drift along at sea so you can enjoy the sunset.

Your Last Day in Guanacaste

Depart from your hotel to the airport for your return flight home. We recommend that you purchase a private transfer to the airport, if so the representative will meet you at your hotel with plenty of time to get you to the airport for your flight out.
