District 1 - City Center

District 1 is the city center of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). A prominent neighborhood for travelers to stay in, a busy area filled with great food, spectacular shopping, luxury hotels, nightlife and many major tourist attractions. This vibrant downtown district is filled with towering skyscrapers boasting some of the best roof top bars in the country featuring spectacular views over the city and the Saigon River. The historic district was once the center of old Saigon and features major attractions such as the Saigon Post Office, Reunification Palace, Gia Long Palace, Saigon Notre-Dame and many museums and pagodas. Historic French-Colonial style buildings decorate the tree lined streets filled with restaurants, shops, markets, and bars. Pham Ngu Lao Street is an area in District 1 that is known as the backpacker`s district with many cheap accommodation options and a bustling nightlife, the area features ancient lanes and alleyways that are filled with restaurants and local coffee shops with a unique vibe. The Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts Museum and the famous Ben Thanh Market (where the night market is also featured) are within walking distance and all the streets are filled with locals selling some of the best street food around.

District 3

District 3 borders District 1 and District 10 situated close to the heart of the city, a quiet, convenient neighborhood spread out over 14 different wards. The area is home to several pagodas including the Xa Loi Pagoda, The Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, and the Jade Emperor Pagoda along with the War Remnants Museum and the Woman`s Museum found here. A beautiful district filled with French-Colonial style villas on tree lined streets where spectacular upscale restaurants can be found and plenty of shops and fashion boutiques. Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street features the Vuon Chuoi Market and a large collection of street food vendors with stalls including vegetarian options. Vo Van Tan Street and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street run the length of District 3 from east to west and provide great shopping, markets, temples, restaurants and a thriving nightlife scene.
