INNSBRUCK - HOTEL ZONES

City Center

The historic old town of Innsbruck dates to the year 1180. Staying in the city center will allow you easy access to all the main tourist attractions of the city, located within easy walking distance from your hotel. Due to the central location, restaurants and shopping are also found in the surrounding area. Some city attractions include the Imperial Palace, the Gothic Court Church, the Baroque Cathedral of St. James and the Tyrolean Provincial Museum. The Innsbruck Central Station is also within walking distance to the city center hotel locations.

Outskirts

The outskirts of town is best known for its picturesque views and the Hoch-Hungerberg mountain settlement and its famous cable car. Hungerburg is a district of Innsbruck and is sometimes called `High Innsbruck.` The Hungerburgbahn takes you out of the city up into the mountains. From Hungerburg, the cable car travels along the north chain (Nordkette) to Seegrube and Hafelekar.

Other outskirt area are mostly residential neighborhoods situated outside the city center. Some hotels are along the Sill River. The city`s central train station is on the west side of the Sill across from the neighborhood`s Stadtpark Rapoldi. It is generally fairly easy to walk to Innsbruck`s main attractions from most of these hotels, or can be easily accessed by public transportation.
