Day 1 in Kauai

Welcome to Kauai! Upon arrival at the airport, you will go through customs and immigration. Should you opt to purchase a transfer to your hotel; a representative will be waiting for you as you exit immigration. Arrive at your hotel, check in and do not give in to jet lag! There is so much for you to see and do!

Begin the afternoon with a traditional plate lunch saimin at one of the many eateries found around Kauai. We recommend that you get acquainted with the island, visit one of Kauai`s small towns and get a feel for the island life, Old Koloa in the south, Hanalei Town in the north and Hanapepe Town in the southwest. Take a stroll around and check out the local shops, try some shaved iced and enjoy the slow pace of this beautiful place.

Visit one of the many amazing beaches located on Kauai, relax and do some sunbathing, swim or snorkel in the sparkling blue waters or sip a cocktail beachside. You can go kayaking or take some surf lessons; this is the perfect place to try anything water related.

For your first evening in Kauai check out one of the luau`s offered on the island, watch the sunset along with a grand celebration of food, entertainment, and Polynesian culture. Dine on local cuisine including kalua pig, haupia, and poi while listening to live music under the stars and witness the Tahitian dancers and Samoan fire dancers. A few popular locations to find a traditional Hawaiian luau are the Sheraton Kauai Resort and Spa, the `Aulii luau` or at the Grand Hyatt on the south shore. In Kapaa the Smith Family Garden Luau or the Luau Kalamaku in the Kilohana Plantation.

Day 2 in Kauai

Start your day early with an amazing adventure onboard a helicopter tour. Take in the spectacular Garden Isle from the air and possibly catch the sun rise! Witness the magnificent beauty of the Napali Coast most of which can only be seen from the sky. Grab some breakfast and fuel up for your day.

Head out west to Waimea Canyon and Kokee State park, see the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, the canyon covers 1,866 acres of rainforest, is 12 miles long and over 3,000 feet deep with the Waimea River running through the gorge. There is a lookout located between mile markers 10 and 11, and from there it is another 6 miles to Kokee State Park. Pack a lunch and stop somewhere along the hike/trails, enjoy the spectacular scenery and enjoy some lunch.

From here take a drive to the south shore to Allerton Gardens, a beautiful botanical garden that lies between the Pacific Ocean and the McBryde Garden in the Lawa`i Valley, take in the beauty of these 80 acres with valleys, streams, mini waterfalls and tropical plants. Also on the south shore is the `Spouting Horn`, check out this amazing natural wonder where you can see the waves crashing under a lava shelf and watch the water shooting out of small openings on the surface, up to 50 in the air, a spectacular sight!

Spend your evening in Poipu discover the beauty of this south shore community with exclusive shops and gourmet restaurants. Be sure to watch a sunset from Poipu Beach which was ranked the number one beach in the U.S by Dr. Beach. The spectacular sky lights up with an amazing array of colors, you might even capture the emerald green flash! In the Poipu Shopping Village you can find Keoki`s Paradise offering live music Tuesday through Saturday from 5 pm - 10 pm, Sunday through Monday 7 pm - 9 pm.

Day 3 in Kauai

Make today a fun filled day, packed with adventure! Soar through the rainforest above the lush valleys and streams on a zip line! Float down the river on a tubing adventure, and learn about Kauai`s rich history and its diverse ecosystem. A few places for your day of adventure include Princeville Ranch Adventures on the North Shore and Kauai Backcountry Adventures.

Spend your afternoon taking in some of the historical places on the island such as the Kauai Museum or the Waioli Mission House and Church. Or head over to the Coconut Coast and visit Wailua Beach featuring historical and cultural sites, or the sacred Hindu temple, San Marga Iraivan Temple. The Coconut Coast hosts many different activities, including beautiful beaches, the Wailua Golf Course, parks, shopping centers, restaurants along with hiking and biking trails. If you get the chance head inland to check out Wailua Falls, this double waterfall is simply a spectacular sight.

On your final evening take a sunset cruise of the Napali Coast, you have witnessed this beauty from the air; now see these magnificent coastal cliffs and waterfalls from the ocean. Enjoy panoramic views with a delicious dinner and cocktails on board a catamaran.

Additional Days in Kauai

Should you be able to spend additional days in Kauai check out the historic places such as Alekoko, Menehune Fishpond, Menehune Ditch and the Russian Fort Elizabeth.

The Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens on the north shore are worth a visit with over 240 acres of land including 13 gardens and farmland.

Hanalei Bay is the beautiful large bay on the North Shore surrounded by green hills and the spectacular Hanalei River with beaches, kayaking, and swimming.

If your additional day in Kauai is a Saturday visit the historic district of Kapaa`s Saturday Art Walk featuring live music, sidewalk vendors and shopping on the first Saturday of every month from 5 pm - 9 pm. Or the Kukuiula Art Walk, featuring similar attractions, held on the second Saturday of every month from 6 pm - 9 pm at the Kukuiula shops.

The Hanapepe Art Night is held every Friday night from 6 pm - 9 pm on Hanapepe Road with live music, food trucks, shops and galleries with a festive Hawaiian atmosphere.

YourLast Day in Kauai

Depart from your hotel to the airport for your return flight home. We recommend that you purchase a private transfer to the airport if so the representative will meet you at your hotel with plenty of time to get you to the airport for your flight out.
