KAPAA

Situated on Kauai`s eastern coast about 20 minutes north of Lihue, the area began as a plantation village it has the largest population on the island but maintains its small town appeal. Kapaa is the anchor of the Coconut Coast, with local restaurants, cafes, shops and boutiques set amongst stunning scenery with a beautiful beach, it is a great place to stroll along the streets or take a bike ride along the coast. The Wailua River located in the mountains opens into the ocean in the eastern part of town, waterfalls, kayaking, boating and other water activities can be enjoyed along the river.

LIHUE

On the island`s southeast side where the airport is located, Lihue is the government and commercial center of the island, the county seat was founded by sugar planters and is where most of the islands working class residents reside. The area features Kukui Grover Center the islands largest shopping mall, The Kauai Museum, Nawiliwili Harbor and Kalapaki Beach.

POIPU

On the South Shore `the sunny side of paradise` Poipu is the most popular destination for visitors to the island with is beautiful beaches, abundance of water activities and sea life, palms trees and breathtaking sunsets, the resort community offers amazing scenery with an assortment of incredible restaurants and shops this beach town has it all. The Allerton and McBryde National Tropical Botanical Gardens, Poipu Beach Park and the Spouting Horn can be found in Poipu along with 36 holes of golf and 38 tennis courts.

WAILUA

The small town of Wailua is located on the island`s eastern side, the Coconut Coast and gets its name from the Wailua River, the Wailua Falls are located here and can be seen in the opening credits for `Fantasy Island`. This area is the site of Kauai`s original settlement where ancient communities were built along the river, there are several cultural and historical sites in the area that include structures built by the Menehunes (the islands race of small people). Also see Opakeaa Falls, Fern Grotto, Heiau (religious sites) and ancient sites along with popular water activities on the river including kayaking, water-skiing, and wakeboarding. Wailua Golf Course is found here and is ranked the top in the state, Nounou (Sleeping Giant) mountain features three trails for hiking.

PRINCEVILLE

A planned resort community on Kauai`s rugged North Shore, the area was once a haven for Hawaiian Alii (royalty) today it consists of luxury hotels, world class golf courses, high-end homes, and condos with the magnificent North Shore mountains as its backdrop. The Princeville Resort is 11,000 acres overlooking the Hanalei Bay including the St. Regis Hotel, beaches, shopping, and restaurants.

WAIMEA

The small town of Waimea is located on the west side of the island of Kauai, famous for being the place where Captain James Cook first landed on the Hawaiian Islands in 1778. It was also a sugar plantation and the center for Christian missionaries; nowadays most people pass through on their way to Waimea Canyon known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Kokee State Park or the Russian Fort Elizabeth ruins. And further north is one of the most scenic valleys in Kauai, the Kalalau Valley.
