KOH LANTA - BEACHES
Ba Kan Tiang Beach
Ba Kan Tiang Beach is a long stretch of sand situated within close proximity to the Lanta National Marine Park and many other fantastic beaches. Located toward the very southern region of the island with a line of resorts and bungalows nestled along the beaches along with beachside bars and restaurants. This beach area features a curvy shoreline with a beautiful bay filled by the crystal clear blue waters of the Andaman Sea. The waters here are perfect for swimming and snorkeling and there are a few rentals shops found in the area. Klong Dao Beach
Klong Dao Beach stretches for 1.6 miles lined by swaying coconut and palm trees over the powdery white sands with calm waters perfect for swimming. Klong Dao is the closest beach by Ban Saladan Village, which is the heart of the island of Koh Lanta where numerous shops and a popular Saturday market can be found. Visitors can find idyllic beach bungalows and high-end resorts nestled along the shorelines and amongst the jungle backdrops. There is a wide range of restaurants and many other services. The waters on this beach are shallow, clear and calm making it one of the most popular family beaches. The entire beach area has a secluded atmosphere with great bars right on the beach to enjoy sundowners during the sunset. Klong Nin Beach
Klong Nin Beach is a great location featuring high standard accommodations and high-end restaurants, this beach is popular with European families. The beach here is long, and wider than others on the island with calm clear waters that are great for swimming. The backdrop to the beach is the lush verdant tropical rainforest where a number of the luxurious resorts and bungalows are located. Klong Nin is a shopping hub where a few great beach stores, supermarkets, and gift shops can be found. The quaint streets of Klong Nin are great to explore and there are plenty of nice restaurants and sunset bars with a laid back island atmosphere.
Phra-Ae or Long Beach
Phra-Ae or Long Beach is a pristine beach located on the northern coast of Koh Lanta where most visitors arrive via ferry. This area has the greatest concentration of hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops. The long beautiful beaches here feature soft powdery sands and refreshing clear waters with spectacular sunsets. The beach area is backed by verdant mountains providing stunning natural views. Accommodations come in all forms with a few large hotels directly on the beach along with small resorts and quality bungalows and bamboo huts. Long Beach is one of the best areas for nightlife with the high concentration of beach bars and beach front restaurants that provide a livelier atmosphere.
