Day 1 in Krabi

Welcome to Krabi! Upon arrival at the airport, you will go through customs and immigration. Should you opt to purchase a transfer to your hotel; a representative will be waiting for you as you exit immigration. Arrive at your hotel, check in and do not give in to jet lag! There is so much for you to see and do!

We suggest you get acquainted with the town, take a walk around Krabi Town and discover the rich authenticity and laid-back atmosphere of the town and the locals. Choose one of the open-air cafes situated in town and sit down and enjoy a local dish for lunch, relax while you take in the ambiance of this rustic small town. Stroll along the streets and stop into the small local shops to look for some souvenirs.

Walk down the riverside along the promenade and through Thara Park. Here you will find small gardens, wide open spaces, and tropical tree-lined paths which make it the perfect setting for an afternoon stroll.

From here check out the Wat Kaew Korawaram Buddhist Temple, set on a hill overlooking Krabi Town, this is one of the largest temples in town, beautifully decorated with a white façade and a blue tile roof. See the large golden Buddha statue which is the main focal point here and the grand staircase that leads up to the temple which is lined with golden Naga sculptures.

As evening time approaches make your way back to Krabi Town for a delicious traditional Thai meal at one of the many local restaurants featured here. Then stroll down to the riverside where you can catch a glimpse of a Krabi sunset. Explore the popular Walking Street Market (Friday - Sunday evenings 6 pm - 10:30 pm). Alternatively, you can enjoy dinner at the market which features many food stalls that offer tasty local dishes, soak in the vibrant atmosphere at the market with live music and entertainment.

Day 2 in Krabi

Start your day off super early with a journey to Wat Tham Sua, `Tiger Cave Temple`, situated just 6 miles outside Krabi Town. The temple is one of the most popular religious sites in the area with an astounding location. The temple is set on top of a mountain, surrounded by the lush tropical rainforest and limestone caves. Explore the caves where monks live and meditate, the name derives from the tigers that once inhabited the caves and there are said to be tiger footprints set into the walls.

Take the 1,237 steps up to the temple where the Giant Golden Buddha sits high on top of the mountain, enjoy stunning sights from the summit, where you can see the breathtaking islands and limestone karsts set in the stunning Andaman Sea. The summit is a perfect spot to watch the sunrise and take in the scenery which is straight out of a magazine.

From here make your way to Krabi Hot Springs located in tropical jungle surroundings. These natural hot springs are set under lush green canopies with hot tubs that have been formed into the rocks and filled with thermal springs that come from the volcanic chambers here. The waters contain mineral salts and copper that provide healing properties, and the waters reach up to 104F degrees! Relax in this stunning outdoor spa setting.

Make your way to the Krabi Emerald Pool for a refreshing swim in the sparkling emerald green waters, set in the tropical rainforest under a canopy of trees. Explore the surrounding jungle setting with paths decorated by tropical trees and exotic flowers.

Head back to Krabi Town, and stop in for some lunch at one of the restaurants situated along Khonga Road. These restaurants offer waterfront dining with great views and many of them specialize in seafood which is caught fresh daily. Relax after a busy morning and enjoy a cocktail and lunch in the sun. Check out the stores and shopping mall in this area.

Visit Fossil Shell Beach (Susan Hoi) and explore the seashell graveyard, the beach is layered with fossilized rocks and shells that date back over 25 million years. This natural site is the only location in the world where you can find fossils in a coastal area.

As evening approaches, make your way to Ao Nang for a fun night. This popular beachfront town is filled with a wide variety of places to enjoy drinks, dinner, and dancing. Seek out one of the beachfront bars to sit back with a cocktail and watch the sunset. There are restaurants lining the beach offering fresh seafood or traditional Thai cuisine along with beachside barbeques. Enjoy dinner in the laid-back beach atmosphere, and then check out the lively bars and clubs of Ao Nang. Walk along the beachfront and make your way to `Center Point` which offers a wide variety of indoor and outdoor bars.

Day 3 in Krabi

Spend your last day in Krabi, Island hopping, the area around Krabi features some of the best islands in the country. Many tour groups offer the `4 Island tour` which takes you to Phra Nang Beach, Tup Island, Chicken Island and Poda Island by boat. Here you can enjoy a day out on the crystal blue waters and the soft white sands with activities including snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking on the stunning tropical sands and waters.

The beach areas offer plenty of beachside dining options where you can enjoy some lunch and cocktails while soaking up the sun.

Railay beach is another popular destination for a day out at the beach, there are four main beaches here including Railay West, Railay East, Phra Nang Beach and Tonsai Bay which are all worth a visit. Railay is one of the best destinations for rock climbing and cliff jumping along with other water sport activities.

Alternatively, you can take a full day tour to the Phi Phi Islands, approximately a 45-minute boat ride from Krabi. These spectacular group of islands offers some of the most picturesque beaches in the world surrounded by lush tropical forests along with Thailand`s recognizable giant limestone karsts that line the beaches and jut out of the Andaman Sea.

Enjoy your last Thai sunset at any of these beaches and make your way back to Krabi Town, Ao Nang or Railay for a spectacular seafood dinner.

Additional Days in Krabi

Should you be able to spend additional days in Krabi be sure to visit Koh Lanta Yai and island situated around 2 hours away from Krabi on the west coast of Thailand. This tranquil tropical island features 16 miles of idyllic soft white sand beaches lined by the coral waters of the Andaman Sea. Koh Lanta is the perfect destination to relax and unwind and also a popular diving destination with several diving schools situated on the island.

Visit the Huay Toh Waterfalls situated in Phanom Bencha National Park, the falls originate from the Kao Panom Mountains in Tambon Tap Prik. There are five tiers of the falls which cascade down into a swimming pool.

The Khao Ngon Nak viewpoint sits at the end of Tub Kaek Beach around 19 miles from Krabi Town. A 2.5-mile hiking trail weaves through a wooded area past streams and waterfalls up to the summit of Ngon Nak. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views at the peak which stands at 1,853 feet above the Andaman Sea.

Your Last Day in Krabi

Depart from your hotel to the airport for your return flight home. We recommend that you purchase a private transfer to the airport if so the representative will meet you at your hotel with plenty of time to get you to the airport for your flight out.
