Trip Summary
2 nights in Lamanai

Once a major waterway for the ancient Maya, the New River meanders through Orange Walk District linking its towns and villages, primal jungles, sugar cane farms, and some of Belize's most awe inspiring ruins. The Lamanai Mayan site serves as reminder of the flourishing culture that dominated this area more than 3000 years ago, and visitors can still reach Lamanai by boat, as the Mayan did for millennia.

With jungles, rainforests, coastal lagoons, and rivers, the region is home to an amazing array of animal and plant life that includes the jaguar, manatee, and more than 400 species of birds that inhabit the riverbanks.

Our preferred accommodations in Lamanai is the Lamanai Outpost Lodge which provides an experience that combines adventure, education, and leisure in a unique and magical blend.

2 nights in San Ignacio

San Ignacio Town is cradled in a beautiful valley just south of where the Mopan and Macal Rivers converge, its Cayo District location makes it convenient to many of Belize's most popular outdoor attractions, including the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Preserve, the Chaa Creek Nature Reserve, the Baron Creek Cave, and Cahal Pech ruins (just a 10 minute walk from the center of town). From here it is easy to enjoy hiking, birding, caving, canoeing, horseback riding, zip line tours, and the exploration of the nearby Mayan ruins. Our preferred hotels here include some of the most luxurious, and intimate boutique resorts on Belize, and there is a wide range of itineraries that link San Ignacio with many other Belizean destinations.

3 nights in Hopkins

One of the few mainland beaches in Belize, Hopkins is a gorgeous 12 mile ribbon of white sand and crystal blue waters. It is also an extremely convenient location to experience a wide range of Belize's most exciting and interesting activities.

Many of Belize's most spectacular jungle reserves, Mayan ruins, and reef destinations are just a short distance away, and daytrips are easily arranged through our preferred hotels. Or spend your days soaking up the Caribbean sun, with the book you've been meaning to read for a year. The village of Hopkins, is a vibrant Garifuna fishing community with a charming and engaging local community, and accommodations here pride themselves on providing luxury and service in the natural harmony of this pristine environment
