Home | Amazon River - Amazon Cruises
The Amazon rainforest constitutes over half of the planet’s remaining rainforest. The Amazon river is the life force of the forest, rising in the Peruvian Andes and winding its way east over the northern half of South America until reaching the Atlantic Ocean. The Amazon carries the highest volume of water into the ocean, more than combining the top ten largest rivers in the world. It is also home to more than one third of all species recorded in the world. Cruise over the Peruvian Amazon on board the MV Aqua Expeditions or the MV Delfin II for a river cruise experience amidst the pleasures of the finest boutique hotels, a world-class wildlife experience at the highest level of service for a chance to see pink dolphins, howler monkeys, sloths, piranhas and the largest freshwater fish in the world, the Paiche or Arapaima, just to name a few of the marvelous creatures found in the unparalleled biodiversity of the Amazon.
