Lima is a sophisticated and cosmopolitan city that has retained much of its classic colonial architecture and pre-Colombian archaeological sites, that features many of South Americas most beautiful historic museums, churches and cathedrals. The city is alive with activity in its trendy neighborhoods like Miraflores, the beachfronts of Costa Verde and Barranco, and the upscale boutiques, massive shopping plazas, and exclusive shops. Some of the most popular attractions include Plaza Bolivar, Plaza Italia, the Plaza de Armas and the breathtaking panoramas of the Alameda Chabuca Granda viewpoint.

History enthusiasts will love Lima`s National Museum of Anthropology, the Museo de Arte de Lima and Gold Museum, the pre-Colombian Huaca Huallamarca temple and the Huaca Pullana site, to Colonial Basilica Cathedral. (La Catedral, and the gigantic ruins of Cajamarquilla, just outside the Lima city limits.

Lima is the center of the gastronomic universe in all of South American, with cuisine that is as varied as its people with fine restaurants, bars and club, and live music throuought the city, and accommodations in Lima can satisfy the most discriminating traveler, and our preferred hotels include every level of comfort style and luxury services.

Day 1 : Arrival in Lima and Transportation to your Hotel

Welcome to Peru! Lima is one of the most important and modern cities in South America founded by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro in 1535. Upon your flight arrival in Lima, you will go through Immigration and Baggage Claim. Continue through Customs, where you will meet our representative holding a sign with your name. Our representative will assist you with your baggage and with the airport transfer to your hotel.

You will receive a welcome package with itinerary details, transportation times and emergency contact numbers. A vehicle and driver will take you to your selected hotel.

Day 2 : Lima

Meals Included: Breakfast at your hotel

This is your second day in Lima, and last chance to enjoy its exquisite, gourmet restaurants, historic landmarks and museums.

In the afternoon, a trip to the essential Lima, 'The City of Kings' includes the most important architectural icons of the city, such as the Main Square, where you can find the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace.

Then, you continue with a visit to the San Francisco Convent, an architectonic jewel dating back to the 16th century. On your way to the modern area of the city, you will cross the exclusive district of San Isidro, the new financial heart of the city, to take a look at pre-Inca Huaca Huallamarca. Finally, you conclude the circuit in Miraflores, where you will visit the 'Parque del Amor' (Love Park) an excellent spot to enjoy a great view of the Pacific Ocean.

Day 3 : Cuzco

Meals Included: Breakfast at your hotel.

Today you will depart from , Lima for Cuzco. Please note MUST arrive Cuzco no later than 10.30 am. Hotel pick up time will be provided in your welcome package and confirmed by our local representatives the night before. After your private airport transfer, a short 1-hour flight takes you to the Cuzco Airport, from where you will be taken to your hotel in Cuzco.

Cuzco Is approximately 3,400 meters (about 11,500 feet) above sea level and travelers need to inform themselves about altitude and acute mountain sickness (AMS), which may be prevented and treated under the advice of a doctor BEFORE travels begin.

The rest of the morning is free to rest and get acclimated to the altitude.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Imperial City, living example of the mixture of the Andean and Spanish cultures. You start the trip visiting the Santo Domingo Convent, built over the Koricancha, an ancient Inca palace and main worship center of the Sun God. Later, you will stop at the Main Square, where you can find the Cathedral and the beautiful Church of La Compania. Going on with the tour, you will visit the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, imposing sample of military Inca architecture which domains the city

Then you will continue the tour to Kenko, a vast rocky hilltop carved into staircases, holes and channels, probably built to store the chicha (fermented maize beer) used in Inca rituals. And finally, visit the archaeological Inca remains of Tambomachay known as the 'Baths of the Inca'.

Day 4 : Cuzco to Sacred Valley

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Cuzco and driven towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This route starting on the Inca's Balcony, a beautiful place with an impressive view of Chinchero ruins and city, where twelve families still preserve their traditional mores, showing you the ancestral way in which they process the wool, and obtain those vivid colors for their textiles.

Later, we will have lunch in a local restaurant. Afterwards, you will get to Ollantaytambo, one of the most monumental architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire, one of the few places where the Spanish conquistadors lost a major battle. Very well known for its 'andenes' (terraces dug into the slopes of mountains for agricultural purposes), Ollantaytambo was a highly effective fortress, that also served as a temple. Then, we will follow to the town of Ollantaytambo, with narrow cobblestone streets that have been continuously inhabited since the 13th century.

Day 5 : Depart from Sacred Valley For Machu Picchu

Meals Included : Breakfast at your hotel and Lunch after Machu Picchu tour.

You will wake up very early in the morning for the transfer from your Sacred Valley hotel to the Ollanta Train Station where you will board the Expedition Train and enjoy a 2-hour journey passing through lush, green fields and colorful villages in the foothills of the Andes. Final train destination is Aguas Calientes, the little town with an elevation of 6,700 ft., located at the bottom of MachuPicchu Mountain.

Your tour guide will walk with you to the bus stop (next door to the train station). Then a 20 minute bus ride takes you to the top of the mountain, where you will find the entrance to the marvelous citadel, an awe-inspiring sight, MachuPicchu. It will be an unforgettable experience, where a professional tour guide will transmit you the history around this mysterious and charming place.

PLEASE NOTE: The maximum period to stay in Machu Picchu citadel is no longer than 4hrs. Once you leave, it is forbidden to re-enter the citadel, even if you are within the 4 hours stipulated.

After the tour, descend to Aguas Calientes and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Your ride back to Cuzco will consist on the return train ride to Ollanta onboard the Expedition, and a ground transfer from Ollanta train station to your hotel in Cuzco. Overnight in Cuzco.
