The local Currency in Peru is the Nuevo Sol, and each Sol is subdivided into 100 centimos. Exchange rates vary, but you can change US dollars, or travelers checks locally, and obtain cash advances via ATMs in most towns, and cities. Peru has only ne time zone which coincides with (EST) Eastern Standard Time (as New York,) from early November to early March. However, because Peru does not participate in Daylight Savings Time  it is one hour earlier when the US observes DST (from early March through early November).
