The magnificent colorful country offers bird enthusiasts more birds than any other country, there are 2,000 species of migrant and resident birds including 110 endemics that can be seen at various locations throughout the country. The landscapes in Peru include the high grasslands of the Andean mountain range, the lush verdant Amazon rainforest, and the unique ecosystems of the coastal desert. The mighty Amazon is home to 427 mammals, 378 reptiles, 428 amphibians, 1,294 birds, 3,000 fish, 40,000 plants, and 2.5 million insect species. Birding in the megadiverse country of Peru plays a vital role in its tourism sector with three distinct birding routes (Southern, Central, and Northern).
