East Bank

The East Bank of Luxor is the central part of the city where the vast majority of hotels and tourist facilities can be found. The East bank always represented the main settlement through the ages which remains true today, this is where the Luxor Temple, the Temple of Karnak, The Museum and an abundance of hotels and restaurants are located. When visiting the city of Luxor, the East Bank is where most visitors choose to stay and travel across to the West Bank tourist sites. There is a great variety of accommodation options found in this area including 5-star luxury hotels such as the Old Winter Palace Hotel to hostels and camping options.

The layout of the town is pretty simple and the distance between the Luxor Temple and the Temple of Karnak is only about 1.9 miles, the layout of the area is made up of four main roads and a network of small streets. West Bank

The West Bank of Luxor is the gateway to the amazing Valley of Kings along with a string of other ancient archeological sites such as Deir el-Medinah and the Tombs of Nobles. The West Bank is considered to be a desirable area to stay in Luxor offering a wide range of accommodations including hotels, guesthouses, and hostels for every budget. The West Bank is a really good accommodation option for visitors putting them near some of the amazing sites and ruins found inside this archeological paradise.
