City Center

The heart of Nara City is also considered as the downtown area and stretches from JR Nara Station to Kintetsu-Nara Station. A compact neighborhood that includes both the city`s train stations along with a wide variety of accommodations and dining options. The area is easily accessible on foot with some of the city`s most interesting sights and attractions clustered in the middle of the city. Nara`s city center offers some of the city`s best dining and shopping options such as Sanjo-Dori which is lined by traditional shops, popular restaurants, and bars. The majority of Nara`s hotels are found in the city center with options for every budget. Accommodations come in the form of International chain hotels, guest houses, and traditional ryokans and shukubo`s.

Nara Park

The Nara Park neighborhood is just west of Kintetsu Nara Station and stretches to the base of the hills in the east, it sits alongside Naramachi and Nishinokyo. Nara Park area is a dreamy destination to stay when visiting the city, this is one of the oldest parks in the country and historically significant. Nara-Koen Park (Koen is Japanese for park) is the most important sightseeing district in the city and contains some of the most popular attractions such as Kasuga Taisha Shrine and Todai-Ji Temple. The large verdant park is also home to the cities resident wild deer. Accommodations in this area provide visitors with breathtaking views of the beautiful surroundings as well as close proximity to the city center with an abundance of dining and shopping opportunities within walking distance.
