Nassau’s renowned straw market, located on Bay Street in the center of town, is a fun market filled with handmade trinkets and souvenirs. Bahamians have sold handicrafts for hundreds of years producing weaved bowls using their skills brought over from their native Africa. There are wood carvings, beaded necklaces, t-shirts, and island-themed authentic Bahamian merchandise.

Paradise Island

Paradise Island, previously named Hog Island, is home to the renowned Atlantis resort along with numerous other beachside hotels and private homes. There is a golf course on the island and many other sights and attractions. The long cay runs parallel to the north end of New Providence Island and is connected by two bridges forming the Nassau Harbor. The Hog Island Lighthouse is another iconic landmark found on the western tip of the island marking the entrance to the harbor.
