Day 1 in Nice

Welcome to Nice! Upon arrival, you will go through customs and immigration. Should you opt to purchase a transfer to your hotel; a representative will be waiting for you as you exit immigration. Arrive at your hotel, check in and do not give in to jet lag! There is so much for you to see and do.

Begin the afternoon by exploring the Old Town. Filled with history and culture, stop in at one of the many cafes for lunch and get lost exploring the cute boutiques throughout the winding narrow streets. We also recommend that you get acquainted with the city by taking a walking tour which will point out the attractions while providing some informative commentary as you explore. Walk by the Massena square fountain, the Opera House, the Cours Saleya market, Palace of Justice Square, Rossetti square, Jesus Church, and more!

As night approaches, make your way to North of the rue de la Prefecture, this is the ideal place wander around the area up to Place Garibaldi to the north. This area is full of bars and restaurants, especially the southern end, around Place Rosetti, an ideal place to enjoy a drink on a terrace or authentic Niçoise meal next to the beautiful baroque Cathedrale Sainte Reparate, built in the 17th century.

Day 2 in Nice

Start the day off early and head to Cours Saleya, a vibrant open-air street market (the most famous market in the region) selling fresh produce, local meats and cheeses, bread, candies, and flowers, making it a great stop to buy picnic supplies before visiting one of Nice`s beautiful parks. You`ll also find souvenirs and clothing, local artists, and if you`re lucky, street musicians.

In the afternoon, head over to Castle Hill (Colline du Chateau), the hill is right in the middle of town overlooking both the beach to the west and the port to the east. You can drive or take elevators to the top, but we suggest climbing (nearly 300ft of stairs) to the top. The top offers the most beautiful panoramic views over Nice and the Bay of Angels. Plus there is a park making it a perfect place to have a nice picnic with your fresh market finds!

After a busy day, head to Promenade des Anglais, or English Walk, a wide path that runs along the pebbly shore of Nice`s beach. It`s a great stroll for sightseeing as you take in the sunset on the Mediterranean.

Day 3 in Nice

Make your way to Jardin du Monastere de Cimieq, the Monastery of Cimiez, which includes a church and a monastery that have been used (and still are!) by monks since 1546. The 17th Century monastery houses the Franciscan Museum. Surrounding the Monastery are the beautiful Jardins du Monastere, the oldest gardens of the French Riviera! On your way back make sure to stop at the Parc de la colline du Chateau (a great spot for a picnic!) and take in the maze of greenery that has become popular for its cool undergrowth and beautiful waterfall, this is a wonderful place for strolling while taking in the views over Bay of Angels, Old Nice and the Port.

Alternatively, if you`re looking for a more relaxing last day, make your way to Nice`s world-class beaches. The water is an incredible shade of blue, and it`s so relaxing just to look at. And check out the all the entertaining water sports available such as jet skis, wind-surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

On your final night in Nice, enjoy a glass of rosé and a relaxing meal at one of the many restaurants in town square, Place Rossetti, which has great places all around for shopping and quaint restaurants.

Additional Days in Nice

Should you be able to spend additional days in Nice make a day trip to Monaco and Eze. The ride offers some of the most scenic roads in France. Between Nice and Monaco are the three cornices, winding roads along the mountainous Mediterranean coastline. The drive gives travelers a much different perspective of the French Riviera than from the shoreline.

Tour the Medieval hilltop town of Eze, offering tiny charming stone streets overgrown with vines and secret little alleyways. The streets alone are incentive enough to warrant a stop in this medieval village. In Monaco, stroll along the harbor, as this is the place to go yacht spotting. The wealth that sits in this harbor is unbelievable. Other neat things to do are gambling at the Monte Carlo Casino, visiting the private collection of cars of Prince Rainier III, or walking through the Japanese Gardens.

Your Last Day in Nice

Depart your hotel for the airport for your return home. We recommend that you purchase a private transfer, if so a representative will meet you at the hotel, in time to take you to the airport for your flight out.
