Burswood
The Burswood neighborhood is an inner southeastern suburb of Perth located directly across the Swan River from the CBD. The neighborhood is a developing entertainment area and home to Burswood and Victoria Park, the Perth Stadium, Belmont Park Racecourse, and the Crown Perth casino and hotel which is brimming with shopping, dining, casino gaming, and endless entertainment options. There is a thriving nightlife in Burswood and plenty of dining and accommodation options, many people choose to stay at the upscale Crown Perth with all the great amenities and entertainment available on site. It is easy to reach the city center from Burswood with the train station located within walking distance of most hotels along with buses from Victoria Park Transfer Station. Many of the hotels in Burswood offer spectacular views of the city skyline and others look over the lush verdant Burswood Golf Course and the sparkling Swan River.
CBD
The bustling CBD or central business district of Perth is bounded by the Swan River to the south and east and Kings Park on the western end offering visitors some great views from their accommodation. The main street in the city center is St Georges Terrace where many offices are located and Hay Street and Murray Street offer the best retail, dining, and entertainment options in the city. Central Park is the tallest building located in the CBD, it is the 8th largest building in the country. Many skyscrapers fill the city some of which house hotels and restaurants and provide great views over the city, the river, and the surrounding bushland. The city center is brimming with pedestrian malls, dining, and bars along with a variety of different shops. Some of the main attractions found in the CBD include The Bell Tower, Ther Perth Mint, Perth Zoo, Scitech, Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Perth Cultural Center. This is a popular neighborhood for visitors to stay when visiting Perth as many of the hotels are concentrated around the city center and are within walking distance to most of the dining and entertainment options and also within proximity to the major transportation options.
South Perth
The City of South Perth is a residential inner suburb of Perth located about 2.5 miles south of the central business district. This quiet neighborhood offers some fantastic accommodation options for visitors along with spectacular views of the city skyline and the sparkling Swan River. There are lots of cafes, restaurants, shops, and local markets offered in South Perth along with beautiful parks and scenic walking, cycling routes. Mends Street and Angelo Street are the places to visit for endless dining options and evening entertainment along with a great selection of unique boutiques, bakeries, and cafes. The award-winning Perth Zoo is within walking distance from Mends Street, home to over 1,300 native and exotic animals. The City of South Perth Fiesta is held annually in South Perth usually in March, it's a vibrant 2 week-long festival filled with food, sporting events, live music, art, crafts markets, and more. This is also a great location to watch the firework display on Australia Day (January 26th). Many visitors choose to stay in South Perth due to its proximity to the city center, gorgeous panoramic views, and its laid back atmosphere.
