Puerto The small town of Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui was once an important port town in Costa Rica. Nestled in the foothills of the Cordillera Central Mountain Range this small town is a great base for visitors who want to visit the Sarapiqui River for white water rafting and the surrounding lush green rainforests brimming with nature.
