NEIGHBORHOODS - SIEM REAP

French Quarter

The Old French Quarter Neighborhood is located in Siem Reap`s colonial downtown district, situated between the Siem Reap River and Sivatha Blvd. Old French buildings and colonial architecture can be found in this charming vintage area where the streets are lined with outdoor cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. Sivatha Boulevard is the main street situated here offering luxury hotels and popular places like Prince d`Angkor Hotel and Spa and the famous FCC Angkor Restaurant along with traditional night street markets. The Royal Residence and the Royal Independence Gardens sit by the river and the Raffles Grand Hotel d`Angkor is also featured here which overlooks the gardens. Beautiful paths run along the side of the river which is lined with trees and flowers, this is the perfect place for a stroll.

Old Market

The Old Market neighborhood is a huge tourist area in the city, the district runs from the night markets on Sivatha Blvd down to the Siem Reap River and includes the very popular Pub Street. The alleyways of Pub Street are lined from one end to the other with pubs, restaurants, and shops. It is the main nightlife destination in the city featuring the Angkor What? Bar, which was the first and most popular bar to grace the streets. Other places of interest here include the McDermott Gallery and trendy fashion stores and boutiques such as Smateria and Wanderlust. Areas nearby include Hup Guan Street, Kandal Village and Sok San Road which are all up and coming locations featuring food, bars, and shops.

Wat Bo

The neighborhood of Wat Bo sits on the east side of the Siem Reap River and is named after Wat Bo, the 18th-century Buddhist temple which is located here. Wat Bo is the main road in the area filled with hotels, high-class restaurants, and bars. Wat Bo is within walking distance to The Old Market neighborhood. The neighborhood is a quiet area, but it has been up and coming over the last decade.
