ST KITTS AND NEVIS - HOTEL ZONES

St Kitts

St Kitts is the larger, more developed, and more mountainous of the two islands. It is home to a laidback capital, Basseterre, a former colonial outpost renowned for its historical monuments, vibrant markets and lively beach life. This is where the cruise ships dock, and where many visitors enter the islands.

Dominated by Mount Liamuiga, a dormant volcano filled with lush rainforest, Kitts is also home to the defunct British fortress, Brimstone Hill, one of the best preserved citadels in the Americas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overall, the island offers a laid-back Caribbean island vibe, with a few lively centers.

Nevis

Nevis is tiny and feels more relaxed of the two islands, and more historic, with charming old plantation houses, many of which have been converted into some of the best places to stay. The scenery remains relatively untouched by progress and the laid-back atmosphere feels more like the Caribbean from years ago. If you are looking for complete relaxation and tranquility, this is the perfect place to be.

Those looking for something more adventurous can pass the days hiking through forests, pedaling down mountain trails or exploring the island’s coral reefs, which are popular with scuba divers and snorkelers. The powdery beaches are stunning and relatively uncrowded. You’ll also find plenty of excellent restaurants to choose from in Nevis.
