City Center

The city center of Strasbourg is packed with Alsatian charm and offers multiple districts that bring a slightly different character to each area. The most interesting and picturesque part of town is the Le Petite France, the historic center and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This area is packed with narrow cobbled streets, restaurants, shops and cafes. The center is small enough to be explored on foot with most of the main sites in close proximity and many are pedestrianized. The districts within the city center include Neudorf, La Krutenau, Petit France, Cathedral, Orangerie (European Parliament), train station, and Port du Rhin.

Outskirts

Staying in the outskirts of the city will allow for a more relaxed atmosphere from the city hustle and bustle. It is perfect for exploring both Strasbourg and the surrounding Alsatian countryside. If you do stay further out of city you will want to be sure to have transportation or have easy access to public transportation in order to get around.
