June - August

The summer months in Israel offer visitors clear blue skies and hot weather, with temperatures that reach into the 100-degree range at times. The summer temperatures provide perfect weather to visit the country`s beautiful beaches and cool off in the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The beaches are in full effect during the summer and can be very busy with people, lifeguards on duty, sun loungers and umbrellas for hire. This is also the perfect time to get out on the water and enjoy many of the water sports activities at the beaches.

The south and The Sea of Galilee temperatures can reach well into the triple digits during the July and August with high humidity, making the weather unbearable for some outdoor activities. The summer is also Jerusalem`s peak travel season when airfare and accommodations are more expensive as well as noticeably larger crowds at attractions and beaches. `Hamsin` or `sharav` (heat waves) which are the hot, dry desert winds that occur around the end of summer, and anytime from March through November, can affect plans, especially outside. During these times it is best to plan a visit to the museums or be in the water and also drink plenty of water.
