Kotor Port

The port of Kotor can be found just outside the entrance to Old Town, where beautiful picturesque villages are nestled along the waterfront including Dobrota, which is a 3 mile long narrow part of Kotor. Prcanj is another quaint town nestled on the Bay of Kotor, a maritime town decorated with historic stone buildings, just a short walk from the city center of Kotor.

These two charming towns are a quieter option than Old Town with great places to stay and some pretty amazing views. Taxis and public transportation are available and they are cheap and reliable connecting guests to the main sights and attractions in town. Visitors can enjoy a more peaceful stay in Dobrota away from the cruise shippers, it is one of the best neighborhoods to take a relaxing wander along the coast and quiet nights compared to the hustle and bustle of the center. Prcanj is less than 3 miles away from Kotor city center, opposite from Dobrota, filled with natural beauty, the streets are decorated with charming stone villas, vibrant gardens, and backed by the Vrmac mountain and verdant olive orchards. There are many opportunities in the port to take a cruise around the Bay of Kotor, and normally include a visit to Lady-of-the-Rock located near Perast. There are more budget-friendly options in Dobrota, and Prcanj as well as unique accommodations with breathtaking views across the bay to Old Town.

Old Town

Kotor`s Old Town, Stari Grad is the most famous portion of the city filled with history, culture, and tradition. The attractive medieval town is nestled in an inlet of the Adriatic Sea and surrounded by soaring verdant mountains and overlooked by the castle. A dreamy neighborhood where a great number of the city`s monuments stand, the historic streets are decorated with medieval architecture and a number of Old Town’s charming accommodations such as boutique hotels that make guests feel like royalty. Narrow, romantic, cobblestone streets lead to beautiful squares, hidden courtyards, white stone walls, staircases, and busy markets, a truly beautiful and captivating sight. Old Town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, it is so impressive and historically important, the triangular-shaped medieval walled town is a highly sought after place to stay when visiting Kotor, a true historic gem.

Outskirts

The outskirts of Kota include the quaint charming town of Perast, nestled in between the water and the mountains, known for its closeness to islets Our-Lady-of-the-Rock and St. George directly across from town. Situated on the Bay of Kotor just a mile or so northwest of Kotor, guests can easily reach the main sights and attractions by public transportation or taxi. There are just 400 residents in town, but it is a perfect place to stay when visiting Kotor with the incredible surrounding scenery and amazing unique accommodations. The town also offers quite a few attractions itself such as a few churches, a bell tower, and a museum, there are quaint restaurants, cafes, and shops to visit as well. The waterfront town of Budva is located just northwest of Old Town, another great location to stay in the outskirts of Kotor with a beautiful boardwalk lined by various restaurants, and shops, a great beach, and excellent accommodation.
