Day 1 in Ayers Rock

Welcome to Ayers Rock! Upon arrival at the airport, you will go through customs and immigration. Should you opt to purchase a transfer to your hotel; a representative will be waiting for you as you exit immigration. Arrive at your hotel, check in and do not give in to jet lag! There is so much for you to see and do!

Begin your outback adventure at Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, the Aboriginal land where the world-renowned `Uluru` sandstone monolith stands. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering a vast area of land in Australia`s `Red Center` which is filled with the 500 million-year-old rock formations. In the park, visitors will find the Aboriginal Cultural Center where they can immerse themselves in the amazing culture and history of the Aboriginal tribes who lived in the region over 10,000 years ago.

There are many walks and hikes offered in the park including the most exciting `Valley of the Winds`, however, the shortest and easiest is the Walpa Gorge which we recommend for your first day in the desert. The trail stretches for 1.61 miles through the gorge filled with natural beauty with local wildflowers, plants and trees grow and animals can be spotted. At the end of the trail, walkers are rewarded with some dramatic scenery of the stunning Olgas.

For your first evening in the desert join one of the sunset tours of Uluru. This will no doubt be the highlight of your first day and an unforgettable experience. Enjoy a glass of fizz or Australian wine and canapés while witnessing the mesmerizing array of vibrant colors and light that dance of the rocks. Dinner can be enjoyed in the desert in the form of a barbeque, candlelit meal under the stars or make your way back to the resort to enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants on site.

Day 2 in Ayers Rock

Begin your day with an early start, grab some coffee and breakfast and head out to watch an inspiring desert sunrise, watch Uluru come alive with a transformation of colors. Head out to explore the Valley of the Winds trail which takes your through the heart of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park covering 4.6 miles and passes two lookout points where you can take in the beauty of your surroundings and capture some breathtaking photographs.

Make your way to the small town of Yulara for some lunch, relax in one of the charming cafes or restaurants and enjoy some local food. Then walk around the town square which is filled with quaint shops.

Next check out `The Olgas,` which translates to `many heads` in Aboriginal, this large group of 36 large domed rock formations with the main attraction being `Mount Olga` which stands tall at 3,497ft above sea level. The area features walking trails through valleys and gorges that lead to look-out points, waterholes, and picnic areas.

As the evening approaches you can catch another spectacular sunset in the area, The Olgas are a particularly stunning site to see the sky light up with vibrant colors and the rocks change from hue to hue. Enjoy an outback dinner in the desert with an Australian style barbeque as you watch the colors of the sky fade and dine under the stars. Enjoy drinks and dinner in the desert under the twinkling stars which are the perfect end to a magnificent day.

Day 3 in Ayers Rock

Fuel up on breakfast for a day out visiting the National Parks in the area, first make your way to the MacDonnell Ranges, these beautiful mountain ranges are an interim Australian bioregion covering a staggering 9,709,870 acres in Australia`s Northern Territory. The ranges are an area of Aboriginal significance and consist of spectacular gaps and gorges that run east to west for 400 miles. The Australian Overland Telegraph Line and the Stuart Highway cross through the ranges. There are hiking trails, bike paths, swimming holes and four-wheel drive tracks to explore this vast region. Take a picnic with you and enjoy an adventurous morning in the National Park.

After lunch, head to Watarrka National Park where the spectacular Kings Canyon can be found in the heart of the park. This massive gorge is enclosed by 328ft high red sandstone cliff walls, the gorge is filled with lush vegetation, trees, rock pools and animals. The main attractions here are the Kings Creek Walk, a 1 ½ mile trail around the base of the canyon, the exotic Garden of Eden, The Lost City and the Amphitheatre. Visit Kings Creek Station in the park for some lunch and visit the working cattle station, then continue on exploring this remarkable rugged region.

On your last evening in the desert enjoy the unforgettable `Sounds of Silence` dining experience. Watch your last sunset over the stunning rocks with a glass of Australia`s best wine, then dine under the stars by candlelight in a romantic desert setting.

Additional Days in Ayers Rock

Should you be able to spend additional days in Ayers Rock travel to the town of Alice Springs where you will find the Alice Springs Desert Park, Alice Springs Cultural Precinct, Alice Springs Reptile Center and the Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve.

Your Last Day in Ayers Rock

Depart from your hotel to the airport for your return flight home. We recommend that you purchase a private transfer to the airport, if so the representative will meet you at your hotel with plenty of time to get you to the airport for your flight out.
