THE BEST TIME TO VISIT THE MALDIVES

The Maldives is a sensational warm tropical destination enjoying sunshine-filled days throughout the year with average daily temperatures between 74- 88 degrees. The stunning island chains are situated near the equator, making the temperatures warm year-round, and the sun is hot. The island nation is an ideal year-round destination and features two seasons; May to October is considered the rainy season, and November to April is the dry season.

There are pros and cons to visiting during each season, the best weather will be during the dry season with little precipitation and wonderful warm weather, this is the high season on the islands when travel and accommodation rates are at their highest. During the rainy season, the islands experience between 5-10 inches of rain per month along with strong winds, however, the rain doesn’t last long, usually an afternoon thunderstorm but sunshine the rest of the day. Peak season is January through April which are the driest months with little rainfall and low humidity. During the dry season visibility in the waters are superb, and during the wet season, there are a large number of hammerhead sharks and reef sharks to see.
