GETTING AROUND - BROOME
Walking around Broome is easily done as it is a small town and access to the beaches can be done on foot from your accommodation. Although walking between Cable Beach, the Downtown area and Chinatown can take about a half-hour or more and in the heat, this can be pretty hard work. Walking around once in Downtown, Chinatown and at the beaches is easily done on flat surfaces and short distances within these areas.
By BicycleA bicycle when staying in Broome is a great way to see the different areas in town and can be a quicker option than walking if you want to connect from the beach to Downtown, etc. Some hostels and hotels offer bicycles and scooters to rent and Broome Cycles has mountain bikes for hire costing around A$30 per day or A$100 per week.
By BusThe main form of public transportation in Broome are buses. The Town Bus offers regularly scheduled buses that connect Cable Beach to downtown and Chinatown. Tickets cost around A$4 and services run 7 days a week every 30 minutes during peak season and every hour during offseason.
Broome Explorer Bus is an easy and cheap option to travel around Broome with services 7 days a week and bus stops located near all major accommodations with stops at Town Beach, Chinatown, Boulevard Shops, and Cable Beach.
