Dominical

Dominical is a small beachfront town located on the Southern Pacific Coast in Costa Rica. This quaint coastal town boasts a laid-back beach vibe with accommodations, restaurants, and shops that line the popular beach road. The beach is a world-renowned location for surfing with waves that reach up to 10 feet. The area is packed full of natural beauty, boasting lush tropical rainforests, and mountainous interiors and golden sand beaches that stretch for miles along the coastline. The idyllic beaches are lined with palm trees, caves, coves and cliffs that add to the picturesque scenery of this region. The turquoise green Pacific waters are the perfect place for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and diving with vibrant coral reefs, colorful fish and breathtaking sunsets. This beachside destination holds an abundance of activities, affordable accommodations, great beaches, tropical interiors, good food, and great views.

Ojochal

The small authentic fishing village of Ojochal is located 19 miles south of Dominical and 15 minutes south of Uvita on the South Pacific Coast. A popular beach destination, labeled as the `Culinary Capital of Costa Rica`, features the best restaurants in the region. Ojochal boasts some of the most stunning landscapes with lush verdant interiors, beautiful white sand beaches, and tropical turquoise waters. The raw natural beauty of this beachside town offers unique lodges for accommodations. The outdoor activities are endless with dolphin and whale watching tours, scuba diving over vibrant coral reefs, zip lining through the jungles and soaking up the sun on the tranquil beaches.

Uvita

The small beachside town of Uvita sits between Dominical to the north and Ojochal to the south on the South Pacific Coast. Situated just off the main pacific highway, along dirt roads that lead into the mountains is the growing village and location of the famous `Whale`s tail`, which is part of the spectacular Marino Ballena National Park. Accommodations here come in the shape of lodges and villas built into the jungle-covered hillside offering breathtaking views. There are a few restaurants, banks and grocery stores situated just off the main highway and more can be found as you drive further into town. The region boasts pristine beaches including Uvita Bay Beach with soft white sands and crystal clear waters, guest houses and rustic cabins line the beach area along with restaurants, bars, and cafes. Annual events take place in Uvita including the Whale and Dolphin Festival which celebrates the arrival of the humpback whales and the Envision Festival which is a large hippie gathering on the beach.
