WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Meissen Porzellan Manufaktur & Museum

This tour is provided by A/C private car or minivan. It takes 12 hours. I and the professional driver will pick you up at 7 am in a lobby of the hotel you are staying in. It takes 1.5 hours to reach Meissen town from Prague by car. It takes 30 minutes to get to Moritzburg Castle from Meissen town by car. Bottled water will be available in the car for you free of charge.

Meissen offers you the renowned and exclusive porcelain factory with its own world of adventure, known as the House of Meissen, where you can behold the breathtaking, famous Meissen porcelain. In the workshops guests experience first hand the production of ´white gold´. In the same building, the Museum of Meissen Art takes you on a journey of some 300 years of porcelain history. The exhibition includes the most comprehensive collection of Meissen porcelain from its beginnings in 1710 to present day.

2: Meissen Cathedral

Meissen Cathedral or the Church of St John and St Donatus (German: Meißner Dom) is a Gothic church in Meissen in Saxony. It is situated on the castle hill of Meissen, adjacent to the Albrechtsburg castle and forms a critical centrepiece of the iconic Meissen skyline overlooking the River Elbe in the valley below.
It was the episcopal see of the Bishopric of Meissen established by Emperor Otto I in 968. It replaced an older Romanesque church.[1] The present-day hall church was built between 1260 and 1410, the interior features Gothic sculptures of founder Emperor Otto and his wife Adelaide of Italy as well as paintings from the studio of Lucas Cranach the Elder. The first Saxon elector from the House of Wettin, Margrave Frederick I, had the Prince's Chapel erected in 1425 as the burial place of his dynasty. The twin steeples were not attached until 1909.

3: Albrechtsburg Castle

The Albrechtsburg is a Late Gothic and early Renaissance castle errected from 1471 till about 1495. It is located in the town centre of Meissen in the German state of Saxony. It is situated on a hill above the river Elbe, adjacent to the Meissen Cathedral.

4: An der Frauenkirche

The Frauenkirche was the seat of an archpriest in the Meissen Diocese until the Reformation, when it became a Protestant church. This first Frauenkirche was torn down in 1727 and replaced by a new, larger church with a greater capacity. The Frauenkirche was re-built as a Lutheran (Protestant) parish church by the citizenry.

There is a small entrance fee to pay. Not included in the tour price.

5: Schloss Moritzburg

Moritzburg Castle is a former hunting lodge and summer residence of August the Strong, a jewel of Saxon Baroque architecture set in the heart of a picturesque landccape. It has become famous as a result of the fairy-tale film Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella (winter exhibition open from November till February). Opening times of Baroque Castle: April to October daily from 10 am to 5 pm. Castle fee is 8 EUR per person (not included in the tour price).

If you feel hungry we have lunch in a local restaurant in a centre of town. Lunch is not included in the tour price (cca 25 EUR per person).

Strahov stadium (Pass by)

The Strahov Stadium is the stadium with the largest area in the world. Its capacity is 250,000 seats, of which 56,000 are for seating. Since March 6, 2003, the concrete grandstands have been registered on the list of cultural monuments of the Czech Republic.

Kosire (Pass by)

Koíe was a village surrounded by vineyards until the second half of the 19th century. In the 16th and 17th centuries, Koíe Myslíková from Hyrov owned, from where some of them extended their predicate. They began to develop into their current form at the same time as the development of industry in Smíchov (the workers of the Smíchov factories lived in Koíe). In 1895, Koíe was promoted to a town. In 1922, Koíe became part of Greater Prague.

WHAT TO EXPECT
We would pick up at your hotel. Just 1 hour drive away from Prague, winery which is specialized with biodynamic production (the only Czech winery awarded with DEMETER biodynamic certification) is located. You will be welcomed here by local sommelier who will start the visit with a brief introduction of the winery and biodynamic wine production followed by a cellar tour and wine tasting in the winery.
After this kick off we will bring you to the production part of the winery. Modern technologies combined with careful work with the hands and a true love of the craft produces high-quality wines. This organic production does not allow for the use of synthetic fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides, instead they use naturally occurring substances for disease control. Here you can reveal the secret of biodynamic wine production in detail.
We will finish our program at this winery with a visit of the vineyards, where is one of the greatest view at Kutná Hora city.
Time to have a break and enjoy two course lunch in the historical centrum of Kutná hora. We choose traditional Czech restaurant to create your delicious gastronomic experience even more authentic. (Please let us know, if you are vegetarian!)
Nice walk through the city center is just the right thing to do after lunch. On the way to our next spot, we will do a quick stop at the vineyards which belongs to this winery. Located right next to the cathedral, so very photogenic stop indeed. Why not to enjoy a glass of wine here?
And finally, the dominant of Kutna Hora town visit roman catholic Church of St. Barbara built in the style of Cathedral. We will explore this beauty from the inside as well of course.
Our final stop is particularly unique. The cemetery church of all saints with the ossuary impressively decorated with human bones (remains of 60 000 people). Something breath taking for sure.
After this stop, we will drive you back to your hotel in Prague.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Prague (Pass by)

You will be picked up in the morning at your accomodation in Prague together with all other participants. Maximum size of our group is 7. We will drive in a comfortable Mercedes van approximately 2 hours to our first stop on this tour which is in Germany. Rest room stops guaranteed.

1: Bastei Bridge

Passport or ID needed for this part. Our first stop on this tour is famous and picturesque Bastei Bridge in German (Saxon) part of the national park. A bridge that once connected land with the castle built in sandstone rocks. We will spend approximately one hour there and we will help you to get the best pictures and learn something about the place as well.

2: Czech - Saxon Switzerland

On our way from Bastei back to the Czech Republic we will drive along Labe /Elbe river approximately 30 minutes until we will get to the gate to the Czech part of the park - Hrensko village. We will park our van there.

Bohemian Switzerland National Park (Pass by)

Bohemian Switzerland is simply the Czech part of the national park. We will spend the bigger part of the day there doing various activities mentioned below.

3: Pravcicka brana - Sokoli hnizdo

The most famous part of the Czech half of this park - is the largest sandstone arch in Europe. We start our hike from the parking lot. It is 1 kilometr on the road and 2,5 km up to the hill (the same distance back then). For most people this hike is easy but some people who are not used to walk or exercise it can be more challenging. Take your time. You will make it to the top in the end and the views that are waiting there for you are worth it. Little kids, seniors, they all are hiking to the top every day. You will do it too. Easily.
Remember, during the winter season (November to March) the arch is open only from Friday to Sunday. Tisa Rocks labyrinth is our winter alternative.

4: Mezná

You will be hungry. We will take you to a local restaurant to taste some good Czech food and a good Czech beer (or a soda if you like).

5: Edmundova soutEska

Between April and October only. Some people like this part the most. The gorge is really nice place. The access to it leads through long stairs in a forest down to a river. River Kamenice is in some parts accessible only via boat. And that is your trip. Boats leave from a port through the gorge and at the end of it they return back.
