Take one of the most spectacular driving routes in the world; France. Combine with a Rental Car and visit; Paris (the romantic City of Lights, stroll the Champs Elysses and indulge in the incomparable French cuisine), next is Alabaster Coast (part of the French coast of the English Channel, corresponding to the coastline of Pays de Caux and forming almost all of the coastline of Seine-Maritime); after that, Cote Fleurie (a 40-kilometre stretch offering sandy beaches, cliffs, and very popular and charming seaside resorts); and then, D-Day Beaches (Allied code names for the beaches along the 50- mile stretch of Normandy coast targeted for landing were Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword). From there, drive to Cherbourg Peninsula (also known as the Cherbourg Peninsula, is a peninsula in Normandy that forms part of the northwest coast of France). End this trip with a couple of spectacular nights, again in Paris before heading back home.

Alabaster Coast (Normandy)
The Alabaster Coast, or Côte d'Albâtre in French, is a stunning 80 mile stretch of the Normandy coastline made of magnificent white chalk cliffs and pebble beaches. Its name is derived from the alabaster limestone, making the cliffs white in appearance. Beloved by the 19th century Impressionist painters who came here to paint the ever-changing light, the coastline is dotted with charming fishing villages and seaside resorts. Less well known than other parts of the region, this unspoiled coast is the perfect destination to take in the sights, sounds, and culture of this part of Normandy.

Cote Fleurie (Normandy)
From Cabourg to Honfleur, the Côte Fleurie (Flowery Coast) is a 25 mile stretch of beautiful sandy beaches, gorgeous cliffs, and charming seaside resorts. You can go horseback riding in Deauville, swim in Trouville, cycle in Cabourg, stroll the fish market in Trouville, follow the rallye de la Cote Fleurie in Blonville sur Mer or go shore fishing on the beaches of the area. The Côte Fleurie is also where the village of Honfleur is located, an authentic and artistic city where you can visit painting galleries and taste delicious seafood on the Vieux Bassin.

D-Day Beaches (Normandy)
A visit to the beaches, where the greatest invasion force of all time landed, is a must for anyone visiting Normandy. The 54 miles of coast north of Bayeux, stretching from Utah Beach in the west to Sword Beach in the east, is dotted with WWII museums, monuments, cemeteries, and battle remains left in tribute to the courage of British, Canadian, and American armies that successfully carried out the largest military operation in history, D-Day. It was on these tranquil beaches, during a rainy week in early June 1944, that the Allies finally gained a foothold in France; from this moment, Nazi Europe was destined to collapse.

Located at the top of Normandy's substantial western Cotentin peninsula, the deep natural harbor here is backed by steep wooded hillsides, and it was an obvious place for a fortified port. Cherbourg prides itself on its vibrant local lifestyle and culture including its Italian-style theater, art and history museums, its basilica, the Ravalet castle and, of course, the Cite de la Mer. Set on the green slopes of the Cotentin, the city hosts the second largest artificial harbor in the world, part of the legacy of the 18th century.
