After that, take a flight to Copenhagen (a cozy European capital, filled with stunning architecture, historic sites, world-class museums, and some of the best shopping and dining in Europe) and Stockholm (exciting architecture, medieval urban core and museums), where you will bike with a tour around the city and do some Kayak. Last is Oslo (tranquil parks and bustling urban centers with restaurants and bars; day trips to surrounding islands means there is always something worthwhile happening), where you will enjoy a Fjord Cruise.     Reykjavik offers an interesting mix of cosmopolitan culture and local village roots. A beautiful salmon river runs through the city limits, and so do fine parks and even wild outdoor areas. But against this backdrop of nature, Reykjavik has a packed program of familiar city joys too: art museums, theaters, an opera house, a symphony orchestra and concerts and live music spanning the whole spectrum of age and taste. One must for all visitors is dining out on Icelandic specialties, including delicious seafood. Reykjavik is one of Europe's hottest nightspots, where the action of the friendly pub and nightlife scene lasts right through the night.

The graceful statue of Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid, Tivoli Gardens, a charming all ages 'Pleasure Park' in the heart of the city, the Danish crown jewels at Rosenborg Palace, shops on Stroget, eclectic art and antiquities collections at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Botanic Gardens, and other many beautiful parks.

The Old Town is particularly spectacular, and walking around the city's waterways and parks is a glorious way to spend a weeklong stretch of European summer.

As most sights are within walking distance of each other, you can leave your car behind. Oslo City Hall is located in the city center only a few hundred meters from the city's main street and overlooks Oslo Fjord filled with moored pleasure craft, shrimp trawlers, cruise ships, charter boats and ferries to all the islands. In addition, each quarter of the city has an unusual atmosphere all worth visiting.
