Trip Summary

  • Belfast
    Belfast

Belfast, the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland, dates back to the Middle Ages and has a rich history. Nestled beside the River Lagan and Belfast Lough, it has a lovely setting, often called 'the Hibernian Rio,' a long natural inlet ideal for the shipping trade. One of the last great oceangoing liners, the famous Titanic, was built here in the world famous Belfast Shipyard. Take a stroll and admire the Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian architecture, dominated by the magnificently domed City Hall. Today's Belfast offers beautifully restored Victorian architecture, a splendid waterfront lined with modern art, a fantastic foodie scene and music-filled pubs.

Visit Belfast City Hall, Grand Opera House, Ulster Museum, Botanic Gardens, Titanic Belfast, St. George's Market, Belfast Castle, Parliament Buildings, and much more.

  • Bangor
    Bangor

Bangor is a quaint coastal town, just east of bustling Belfast. Although the town is known for its seafront, visitors can also explore Bangor Castle, the Abbey, and North Down Museum as well as getting outdoors to play golf, sail from the charming marina, or enjoy a day at Pickie Funpark.

Visit the Bangor Aurora Aquatic and Leisure Complex, North Down Museum, Bangor Castle Walled Garden, Pickie Funpark, North Down Coastal Path, Crawfordsburn Country Park, Ulster Folk Museum, and much more.

  • Strangford Lough
    Strangford Lough

Strangford Lough is one of the most richly biodiverse regions in Europe, with over 2,000 marine species spread across 58 square miles. Outdoor activities include sailing, kayaking, diving, canoeing, bird watching, fishing, kite surfing, windsurfing, and boating, as well as paddling and swimming when the weather is right. Take a stroll around this tranquil spot and it will seem perfectly silent at first, but listen carefully and you will soon hear the voices of the locals: birds chatter in treetops, seals splash playfully, and geese skim their wings on the water. Strangford Lough is a place where man and nature live in harmony.

Visit the Strule Arts Center, Ulster American Folk Park, McKenna Gallery, The Abingdon Collection, Memorial Garden, Sawel Mountain, Gortin Glen Forest Park, and much more.
