Palma (known officially until 2016 as Palma de Mallorca) is the capital and largest city of the Balearic island of Mallorca. With over 400,000 people, it is the Balearic Islands' most-populous city. Founded in 124 BCE during the time of the Romans, today only portions of the Roman Wall exist in the city. Palma is home to many historic buildings, some of which date back to the time the Moors (902-1229 CE) ruled the city. The Plaça d'Espanya is a great place to start sightseeing; to the west you'll find the Parc de ses Estacions, which has transport connections to the rest of the island, and to the east you can venture into the center of Palma and the picture-perfect Old City.
