By plane: Basque country's biggest city is Bilboa, Spain, with sits in the northwest part of the region. Bilbao’s international airport receives direct flights from many major cities in European countries like France, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Germany, and Czechia.
TGV stations in the Basque Country: Bayonne, Biarritz, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Hendaye, Irun.
The main stations served by Corail or TER trains : Ustaritz, Combo-les-Bains, Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.
Biarritz is made up of an abundant TER network and a TGV line. The station is located 2 hours from Bordeaux, 1 hour from Pau, 2 hours 30 minutes from Toulouse and 5 hours 30 minutes from Paris-Montparnasse.
It is worth noting that trains are available to link the main cities but the frequency is sporadic and some parts of the countryside aren't well connected or not at all. This means you may not have access to the most typical villages that make the French Basque Country so attractive.
Many long distance bus lines pass through Biarritz and Bayonne. FlixBus has the largest long distance bus network in Europe.
