The city of Toyama is a compact area with many different sights that can be reached on foot. Many of the city`s attractions are found within close range of the Toyama Station. The beautiful Fugan Canal Kansui Park is the perfect location for a relaxing stroll along convenient walking paths in tranquil surroundings with an art museum, outdoor theatre and restaurants all close by.

There are bicycle stations located all around the city of Toyama which offers a bike-sharing service available 24 hours a day 365 days a year with around 20 stations dotted around. The bikes are free for the first 30 minutes after that prices are ¥200 after 30 minutes up to one hour, and ¥500 after 1 hour. There are 26 different locations in the city to sign up for the location closest to Toyama Station at the CiC information desk on the 1st floor.

Taxis are in abundance around Toyama and is one of the best ways to travel around. There are sightseeing taxis available taking passengers to the best spots in the city with informative information given by your driver. Taxis can be found in taxi zones throughout the city or ordered by phone.

Toyama offers visitors several public transportation options, including buses, trams, and trains. The Centram is a streetcar that travels in a loop line around the central area of Toyama City with stops at popular sights including Toyama Castle and Citizen`s Plaza. The journey takes around 28 minutes and the trams come in three colors, black, white and silver.

The Toyama City Tram Line often called `Shiden` operates in Dentetsu Toyama Station, and connects to the JR Toyama Station. There are three routes offered; the downtown loop, one south, and one west. The Portram light rail (Toyamako Line) operates from north of the station to the seaport and Iwase Beach. Trains run every 10 minutes during the morning rush hour and every 15 minutes throughout the day, and 30 minutes in the early morning and late nights.

The Gurutto Bus is a sightseeing tour bus in the city visiting several spots and sights of interest within Toyama City. The bus circulates the city and departs from outside of the Toyama Station. There is a guide on the bus giving information about the city`s top sights.
