GETTING AROUND - GUAM
Walking around the towns and villages is possible with some things located within walking distance. The island appears small, but things are spread far apart, and walking long distances can be a challenge in the heat and with the lack of sidewalks and signage outside of Tumon.
By CarRenting a vehicle in Guam is one of the most popular options for exploring the island at your leisure and for the most flexibility. There are rental car companies at the airport as well as in some of the villages. Renting a car is highly recommended due to the lack of public transport and things are so spread out.
By BoatApra Harbor is Guam’s principal port; it's a port of call for shipping lines and some cruise ships that have scheduled stops on the island. There are no ferry services.
By BusThere are buses operated by the Guam Mass Transit Authority with nine routes connecting most of the villages on the island. A one-way ticket costs around $1, or there is a daily pass for $3 if you use the services several times a day. Buses do not operate on Sundays and national holidays.
By TaxiTaxis are readily available and easy to find in Guam; many can be found at hotels, shops, and other major attractions. Taxis are metered, and a standard flag fare is approximately $3; a ride between the airport and your hotel will cost approximately $10. There’s no Uber or Lyft in Guam, there is a local ride-sharing service called Good to Go Rides, which is the same concept.
