GETTING AROUND - POIANA-BRASOV
Most visitors will fly into Bucharest to reach Poiana-Brasov, renting a car at the airport and traveling for three hours will connect you to the resort.
There is a train from Bucharest to Brasov that takes around 2.5 hours, leaving from Gara de Nord, the main train station in the city. From the Brasov train station, you can take a bus to Poiana Brasov, line 100 is the Poiana Express bus with multiple departures throughout the day.
There is also a dedicated coach that travels from Bucharest to Brasov, the journey takes just under 4 hours. The bus stops in Brasov City Center, then you will need to take a local bus to Poiana Brasov.
By TrainThe resort is not directly accessible by train, however, the closest train station is in Brasov with direct trains from most major cities in the country. A bus is needed from the train station to reach the resort.
By Public TransportOnce in Poiana-Brasov visitors will most likely get around on foot, there are car parks by the ski lifts but they are often chaotic and difficult to find. There is a parking lot by the bus station and most hotels in the area offer shuttle buses to the slopes. The number 4 bus travels from the Brasov train station to the end of the line, then the number 20 bus goes directly up to the mountain to the slopes, stopping at the parking lot, the hotels are within walking distance. The number 20 bus leaves every 30 minutes from the Livada Postei bus stop located on the corner of B-dul Eroilor and Str. Dupa Ziduri in Brasov.
By TaxiThere are taxis in Brasov that will travel to the mountain resorts, a 20-minute journey will cost around 30 Lei, which is quite expensive.
By CarYes, renting a car from Bucharest airport is one of the main ways to reach the resort. The journey takes at least 3 hours. There are parking options available at most hotels and a large parking lot on the way up to the ski slopes.
On FootWalking around Poiana-Brasov is easily done with most of the hotels located within walking distance of the slopes. Walking through the resort area is pleasant with lots of restaurants, and shops available to browse, along with other activities.
By BikeBikes are available for rent in Poiana-Brasov as well as cycling tours through the woods. There are a variety of cycling trails, some up to 84 miles in length.
