Getting Around - Puerto Madryn

By Public Transportation

There are public buses in Puerto Madryn but many of them travel long distances and there is not much in the way of public transportation offered. The Terminal de Omnibus is located on Garcia and Independencia in the city. There are taxis outside the station.

There are peninsula tours that leave from Puerto Madryn and travel to Puerto Piramides, they leave or pick up from within the park. From Puerto Madryn to Puerto Piramides buses are offered daily from 9:20 am to 5 pm. And on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:30 am. From Puerto Piramides to Puerto Madryn buses are offered daily at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. And on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:15 am. The cost is around AR2,000.

On Foot

You can walk around many parts of town on foot. The waterfront boasts a lovely seafront promenade that is perfect for strolling along down to the pier and beach for sunset. There are many restaurants, bars, and shops located along this strip.

By Bicycle

There are dedicated bike paths dotted around the town of Puerto Madryn, making it a pleasant destination to take an exploratory bike ride and check out the sights. There are several cycling tours offered around Peninsula Valdes where riders can bike around and see wildlife such as sea lions and soak up the coastal views, there are electric bikes offered on some tours. There are many scenic coastal routes in town, where cyclists can take in the spectacular views of the Golfo Nuevo.

By Taxi

There are plenty of taxis around town, taxis are the most common way to get around. Many are outside the main attractions or can be called and ordered over the phone for pick up at your hotel or a restaurant.

By Car

It's highly recommended that you rent a car when visiting Puerto Madryn as things are very spread out and there is not much offered as far as public transportation. You will be better off renting a car and accessing the sights and attractions that are outside of the town itself.
