Cruising in Halong Bay

Visiting the UNESCO World Seascape of Halong Bay provides travelers with some of the most impressive sights in the world. The Bay is a well-known area for cruising with many different cruise lines and packages offered. Travel through the sparkling waters of the bay filled with giant limestone karsts and exceptional scenic beauty. We recommend a 3-day and 2-night cruise which is ideal for you to discover the area and enjoy a relaxed schedule along with plenty of other activities.

Arrival in Hanoi

Upon arrival at the airport in Hanoi, you will go through customs and immigration. If you have booked a private transfer with us, the representative will be waiting for you as you exit immigration. Transfer to your hotel in Hanoi city center, check in and get some rest for an early morning transfer to Halong Bay!

Day 1 in Halong Bay!

Wake up early today to meet your driver/van for the 3.5-hour road trip to Halong Bay. Sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Vietnam`s countryside en route to the Tuan Chau Pier. Arrive in Tuan Chau Island, check in at your cruise office and board the ship. Enjoy a welcome cocktail, meet the captain and staff and attend a brief safety meeting. Then check in to your cabin and enjoy some free time to relax and explore the vessel.

Enjoy a delicious lunch on board the ship including fresh Halong seafood and soak up the stunning scenery of Halong Bay with the magnificent limestone karsts jutting out from the water. Arrive at one of Halong Bay`s famous caves and explore in awe the natural beauty that waits inside. Many of the caves found here are decorated with stalactites and stalagmites and many have a unique story or meaning behind them.

As evening time approaches return to the ship and enjoy sunset and cocktails on the deck, then enjoy a delicious Vietnamese dinner. After dinner, explore the onboard activities such as board games, a movie in your cabin, relaxing on the rooftop deck or enjoy the ships spa.

Day 2 in Halong Bay

Rise and shine early this morning to enjoy Halong Bay at one of the best times of the day. Head up to the top deck for a join a sunrise Tai Chi class, which is a great way to awaken you for the adventures of the day. Enjoy a breakfast buffet along with coffee or tea then get ready for the day ahead. Transfer on a small boat and visit Titov Island and Tung Sau Pearl Farm. Alternatively, transfer to day boat and then kayak to untouched areas of the Bay including Bat Cave.

As afternoon approaches, enjoy lunch back on board the ship and enjoy cruising through other stunning parts of the Bay to Cua Van fishing village where you can interact with the locals who live on board these floating villages. Fishermen and their families work and reside here and have for many generations, get a glimpse of their authentic rustic lifestyle and learn about their fascinating culture.

As evening time approaches, back on board the ship, enjoy cocktails on the rooftop deck and watch the sunset amongst the breathtaking scenery of Halong Bay. Enjoy dinner which may include a traditional Vietnamese cooking demonstration, spend the rest of your evening either relaxing on the deck, cocktails at the bar, watching a movie in your cabin or do some night time squid fishing.

Day 3 in Halong Bay

Enjoy your last morning on board the ship either by simply relaxing in your cabin with a cup of tea or coffee or partaking in the Tai Chi session on deck.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast on board and cruise over to Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Cave) one of the most famous and beautiful caves in the Bay filled with stalagmites and stalactites, explore the cave, and discover the many treasures found inside.

Head back to the ship and pack up. Enjoy brunch on board as the ship slowly cruises back to the harbor.

Once back at the harbor in Halong Bay, disembark the ship and explore Halong Bay Town.

Additional Days in Halong Bay

Should you be able to spend additional days in Halong Bay visit Cat Ba National Park, situated on Cat Ba Island which is the largest island situated in Halong Bay. A popular destination filled with hotels, restaurants, bars and outdoor activities. The national park is home to mammals and birds and offers hiking trails through the forested hills.

Lan Ha Bay is a beautiful idyllic island decorated with over 300 limestone karst mountains and over 100 stretches of white sandy beaches. The Bay is the perfect setting for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and sailing. It also offers luxury accommodations in bungalows along with restaurants.

Cannon Fort is situated on a hilltop and was once the command post during the wars, built by the Japanese as a strategic lookout point. Visitors can enjoy views from 580 ft above sea level looking down over the islands and bay below.

Cat Co Cove offers three beaches Cat 1, 2 and 3 situated close to Cat Ba Town in Halong Bay. The beaches are popular for swimming and water sports and offer rentals. The popular Cat Ba Beach Resort is located here; there are also walking trails and stunning scenery surrounding the cove.

Your Last Day in Halong Bay

Depart from your hotel to the airport for your return flight home. We recommend that you purchase a private transfer to the airport if so the representative will meet you at your hotel with plenty of time to get you to the airport for your flight out.
