Once in Dunmore Town, there are plenty of taxis waiting at the dock to transport passengers and cost around $9.
There are high-speed ferry services to Harbour Island from Nassau. Bahama Ferries offers daily ferry rides to Harbour Islands Government Dock where taxis are waiting to transport passengers to their accommodations.
How do I get around the city using public transportation?There is no public transportation on Harbour Island. The best way to get around and explore the island is by walking or renting a golf cart, bicycle, or scooter. There are also plenty of car rental companies, however, having a car is really not necessary on the island.

What is the best time to visit Harbour Island?Harbour Island and the Bahamans enjoy a tropical rainforest climate with hot and humid weather with daily average temperatures ranging in the 80s. The restaurants offer a casual Bahamian atmosphere and most boast some unforgettable views of the stunning tropical surroundings. Fine dining restaurants are in abundance with fantastic establishments such as The Landing, Runaway Hill, Valentine’s Marina, and Queen Conch. These restaurants can be pricey but offer some excellent cuisine options. Sip Sip Restaurant is a favorite and one of the first places many visitors stop to eat with views over Pink Sands Beach.
What is the nightlife like?Early nights are typically the choice in Harbour Town, but there are a few options for those wanting to get out on the town for a good night out. The weekends tend to be the busier nights of the week with bustling bar scenes found in downtown Dunmore, along the beaches, and at many of the resorts. Daddy D’s is one of the hottest nightclubs on the island found right in the center of town, this is the place to dance the night away. Gusty’s is just up from Bay Street, a local watering hole with ice-cold brews, dance music, and sand on the floor. Vic-Hum’s is a local dive bar and tourist attraction on its own on Barracks Street with a ping pong room, a great rum punch, and authentic decor.
